the plot thickens

I can already tell that this season is going to outdo the first. Seeing Jeri Ryan again after her Star Trek days is fun, and she's playing a more neurotic and b*tchy character than her usual cool blonde role, which shows her range.

Her husband is interesting too. You know those two are more involved in...something...than they are letting on.

The chief villain is giving off No Country For Old Men vibes, Javier Bardem style. Having that type as an antagonist is very effective and chilling.

However, one quibble, and I'll keep it vague and unspoilery. There was no need for Leaphorn to endanger himself to "defuse" the threat, and there's no way he would have the expertise for it either. Just put it in a clearing and shoot it from a distance. Or even simpler: drop it in a bucket of water.

Native Navajo language is amazing

I've enjoyed not only hearing the language spoken and sung, but getting to know some of the customs and history and beliefs of the people.

Native Americans, sadly, are still the forgotten people. But maybe shows like Dark Wings will help to change that.

It's good to see so many actual native American actors in these episodes. So many of the landscape shots really show how rugged but beautiful the Western parts of North America are.

This episode shed some light on the history of Joe Leaphorn that really adds to the depth of his character.

Looking forward to how this season wraps up, bit not looking forward to it ending again and having to wait until next season.
