Clarifies a Lot of Issues
Hitchcoc1 August 2023
I agree with another reviewer who was confused as Season 2 finished. I'm weak on the law, and so the legal issues often betray me. It all gets down more to the personalities, and it is assumed that we understand whose ox is getting gored. I have no knowledge of mergers so I have to look at the human relationships that fluctuate in this series. Harvey and Michael are constantly butting heads with Harvey nearly always getting the last word. Jessica holds sway above the others, although she takes a lot of bumps and bruised. The English firm is out there now, getting their two cents worth. This episode is about something different. It is mostly about Louis trying to flex his muscles because of Harvey's anger toward Mike. Louis does his best but he is always bucking against his lack of personal grace.

PROXY WAR , FORGIVENESS
Essay-Kun27 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Great comparison .

Mike and Harvey .

Harvey and Jessica .

How Jessica approached Harvey was different .

She used better words .

In mike's case he asked for forgiveness .

In Jessica's case she didn't ask for forgiveness coz she considers herself above Harvey , hence asked about going back to how it was .

And that she would do it again .

People make mistakes , Forgiveness isn't for everyone .

It's the intentions that matter .

It was very clever writing .

To showcase their internal conflicts through an outside case in which they were putting there own words as proxies and fighting .

Fantastic .

But still , Mike is in Jeopardy . Sooner or later he'll be in that position .

Clarity as the Smoke Clears

I must admit that I was left confused at the end of Season Two. I could no longer determine what anyone stood for, what their goals were, or where they saw themselves beyond the next few minutes. Was it me (most likely) or was the show not written as well by then?

I'm glad for this episode as it explained where I should be as an audience member navigating my way through this series. Mike betrayed Harvey (to some degree I still can't totally put together); Jesica betrayed Harvey; and now Donna's apparent betrayal of friendship with Rachel has come to light, putting their friendship and working relationship on shaky ground (after they seem to address the all "important" question of Mike's penis length) - all this reverberated against a case when a trusted associate betrays his mentor.

And a tear goes to Louis, who, after doing everything right to get what he wants for all the right reasons, finds himself again on the hard end of a stick wielded by Fate.
