Pretentious so-called "artcore" junker
lor_21 January 2016
The "Making of" short subject is helpful in explicating what's wrong with THE INGENUOUS, one of the abstract would-be artsy porn videos latterly released by Marc Dorcel.

Director Max Candy readily admits he is under the influence of '90s phenom Michael Ninn, and Ninn gets a co-director and "technical director" credits. What emerges is dreamy, pointless XXX scenes with an old-time emphasis on orgies, gussied up in the soft-focus approach of David Hamilton mixed with Andrew Blake. In other words, recycling of failed concepts that once passed for high-brow entertainment but are merely boring in today's gonzo environment.

There's no script credit, but Candy should have thought about crafting an actual scenario to convert his aimless mess into at least an acceptable ripoff of that old favorite "Story of O". Framework is a ripoff, with Dorcel's superstar Anna Polina arriving at a mansion to be trained in the world of sex and bondage. Picture is structured so that some new novice will later be primed in the same fashion, but without any specific or interesting dramatics it's a bore.

Anissa Kate, who since the production of this video supplanted Polina as Dorcel's #1 attraction, is along for the ride, along with fellow star Tarra White and an endless array of pretty girls (of which daring! Media regular Victoria Puppy is prominent). Aleska Diamond is prominent but not credited at all on screen.

The languorous orgy scenes are the typical three-ring circus stagings - try to focus on some couple or threesome out of a morass of bodies.

Title should have been made into THE PROTEGEE in synonym/English/Franglais but this rose by any name stinks.
