Take Two?

Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't resist. Clearly Wild Cards is most closely based on the short lived series Take Two. ....and Take Two was from the same team that bought us Castle.

The finale was actually pretty good. I had low expectations for this series after seeing the trailer but I actually enjoyed Season 1. It's nothing heavy. I believe it's correctly branded a comedy, crime & drama.

Well this episode revolves around a multi-million dollar egg. It's a bit far fetched, at times, to see Max calling the shots but it's a TV show. We do witness deception, betrayal of trust and in the end some big news for Ellis before the screen goes black.

That would set the stage for a Season 2. Could Ellis ever trust Max again? Would Max go back to jail? Many options for the writers.

Max, a Common Criminal

Warning: Spoilers
I was really disappointed with this episode. They spend the whole season building up Max's character. That Max isn't a run-of-the-mill thief and con artist and that she has some morals. Unfortunately, it turns out she has no morals and is just another criminal. She pretty much just spit on everything that Cole stands and works for. At the end the she comes with some information, but she's already proven what a terrible person she is.

I was looking forward to a second season, but Cole deserves someone better than Max as a real partner. It wouldn't have been so bad if Cole wasn't the male lead. Cole is too much of a good, upstanding, and morale guy to be a partner with Max on the show.
