Cloud Chamber : Review
zekhprods-directory12 August 2014
How to resume Cloud Chamber the way it deserves it.

Imagine a living mystery, fed by thousands of people brainstorming about enigmas of physics, space and other unexplained phenomenons. Got it ? Okay, cool.

Now imagine that community roaming through a phantom database where clues and documents are viewed and commented by people trying to make sense out of it and get conclusions. A network of curious minds trying to pierce out the secrets of what they think to see, opinions and debates around what's real and not.

Horrible revelations and outstanding ideas about what composes the universe and what lies beyond. Eternal questions are asked once again, are we alone ? What happens when you die ? Is all of this real ? Are they brilliant or insane ?

That's what you'll ask yourself all the time while swimming in those dreamy 3D landscapes, listening to hypnotic trance music while you're attempting to find more answers.

Excellent buy, excellent game.

Cloud Chamber is an amazing game with the message that games can truly be intelligent and awe-inspiring. I have found a wonderful community of intelligent people trying to solve a fictional mystery based on real science.

I've learned a lot about science and math that I never would have thought to look at before, and somehow it's all fascinating. This comes from someone who usually detests science and math, as well, so that is really saying something. Trying to puzzle out what is happening with a dedicated community just adds to the appeal.

I hope more games like this can be made in the future. Sign me up, you have a sale!

Great Game, Greater Experience

I've become obsessed with this game. The conspiracy! The theories! The mystery! The... *garbled sounds, distorted voices saying unintelligible things*... murder? *bzzztflktktk*

The community is great, so far no jerks trying to spoil everything, and the format works very well... much better than I'd expected. The only thing missing is an in-game web browser because it would be nice not to have to leave the game environment in order to research some of the things that come up (and no you don't HAVE to research anything... but it's more fun that way).

I can't wait for a season 2. This is a really innovative game.

Cloud Chamber : Review
grylok13 August 2014
From the beginning Cloud Chamber has introduced me to a new form of gaming, it's an immersive play style that captivates its players into an intelligently designed world. The community as a whole is great, I doubt you will find many other communities that present themselves to be this "unified" and who have achieved so much in such a brief time.

The developers (Investigate North Aps) have expressed a keen interest in involving themselves within the community, to the benefit of improving the game, through integrating the thoughts and ideas of community members. I was surprised that the development team did work so effectively and efficiently in such a short time to overcome any quandaries that community member have faced and have already began to make improvements to Cloud Chamber.

The creative team behind all this is also very active within the community, answering questions, discussing improvements. I have found that they are not only working for the progress of the game, but also express an extremely friendly and dedicated passion towards the entirety of the community. Investigate North have proved that they are not money orientated nor avaricious, I truly get the feeling that they want to please us in any way or form they can and believe me, they do.

The game can be slow or fast-paced, it can be tailored to your play style, and it's whatever you make it. For instance whenever I find a new clue, I'll drown myself into research about said clue, while others go through it at a much faster pace, you can play this game the way you like. That being said I find that the game urges me to play more and more as I progress, as with this type of game you would believe that it can become repetitive, however through every single event of playing Cloud Chamber, I have felt that the story has only pulled me in deeper and deeper.

Personally I stopped reading comments from other players, first I write my own speculations down and only after that I start reading what other players have to say. Which is often jaw-dropping due to the higher levels of intelligence I have witnessed within the community. I have witnessed that everyone has their own unique way of developing and concluding the ideas and evidence they have found from the events within Cloud Chamber, not only this, but I find that it is beneficial being able to compare and contrast my ideas with that of others, making the communal aspect of Cloud Chamber an integral but also distinctive part of the game.

This is not your average gaming experience, trolls, racism and swearing do not exist here, instead Cloud Chamber pertains to a much more mature audience, in which I can work together with people who also want to dedicate themselves to an enhanced gaming experience. That's something I rarely see in any type of game and it's what sets Cloud Chamber a universe apart(pun intended) from the rest.

In the end I'd like to suggest this game to any person that likes to think, re-think and think some more. Space enthusiasts, Indie lovers, sci-fi fans, fantasy geeks, daydreamers, philosophers and just most gamers in general are up for a treat with this little gem.

Storyline (so far) 9/10 (I'd love to give a 10, but there's always room for improvement in any game). Graphics/Visuals 8/10 Original, never seen anything quite like it. Audio 8/10 It's either your taste or it isn't, nonetheless it's great and really adds to the experience. Community 9/10 As mentioned before, the community is one of the best I've ever encountered. Innovation 10/10 For an Indie developer to take such "risk" shows balls, and it turned out they've put their money on the right bet.

As a last note, the game requires Quicktime (mentioned on the storepage) which many people didn't realize.

A Shining Star in an industry of blood and bullet casings.

So despite my reviews on my youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMightyFoxxy/featured), I'm going to review it here as well, because this game is just that awesome.

Gameplay: 10/10 with note. The note being that this game, IS NOT like other games. If you're expecting to be shooting, dodging and trying to survive, then continue on. Cloud Chamber is unlike any other game around with one of the most novel ideas in existence. Using an in-game social network, you use your brain to review, analyze and study images and video...then use that knowledge to collaborate with the other players, using the collective knowledge to solve an amazing mystery. And it isn't just some simple linaer idea either, it requires collaboration and careful thought...People with knowledge/training/degrees in sciences, philosophy and many other disciplines are need to help the less knowledgeable players. And to help force the social aspect of the game, certain documents and videos of varying importance are restricted and locked until X number of other people review/vote on your observations. The only thing I found that would be considered an issue with this game, is that...less intelligent people, may have a hard time collaborating or aiding the other players.

Plot: 10/10...I can't go too much into the plot without spoiling parts of the game here (if you want that, go to my channel. TheMightyFoxxy). The plot is extraordinary and beyond a simple understand of a game. It meshes real life things with fabricated information designed for the game, while making the players uncover a story that is so realistic, you'd think you were actually helping solve a conspiracy that exists in the real world.

Play Value: 10/10 (May vary by individual). I can honestly say, this is the ONLY game I've ever played that I actually would sit there and think about while trying to go to sleep. It entrances the player, especially if they collaborate with the other players, to a point that you WANT to figure it out. The quirk is though, it's such a complex plot that knowing if you won the game...is pretty much impossible without the creators confirming it for you. It also seems to toss some red herrings here and there, just to make sure that you need to think carefully, study and evaluate everything to the highest possible degree.

Total Review: 10/10. This game is great for normal people or if you want to give a gift to your conspiracy theorist friends, then this is something that will possess them likely for a few months and will be enjoyed by any adult that tries to play it.
