This was the kind of episode you could show to someone to sum up what The Voice is. They had almost all of the songs that are infamous with singing competitions like this including "Set Fire to the Rain" "Love Runs Out" "Stand by Me" and "Redemption Song".
Most of the performances were pretty good though. I have been kind of judgmental, probably to a fault, of how the show has gone the last couple of years, but this gave me hope for the season turning out at least decent and me wanting to follow some of the artists once their journey on The Voice stage ends, something that has not really happened much since.
