Hitting the brakes on the pacing
jamesurech20 March 2024
This episode takes things much slower than the past few have, and there's a lot less action, but it has some pretty good moments, too. We split the party between an A and a B plot, which I think gives each of them a better opportunity to shine as individuals and to develop their dynamics, but I think the episode could have done a bit more character work with that time, especially with Hunter and Wrecker.

Because of the week break between episode releases, the slower pace can be a bit frustrating, but I think in the context of the whole season, having a couple episodes dedicated to setup and character work helps keep things from becoming tiring.

This isn't an episode you can skip, but it's probably the one I feel the least inclined to watch again in the near future.

The Epitome Of Why This Show Is Good Not Great
akaash-4734325 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Let me start by saying that I personally love this show and almost any Star Wars animation. I just wish they were a tiny bit more consistent.

Can't completely call this a filler episode, but it felt like one after the lightning fast pacing of the last several episodes - which seems to be a trend of not just this show, but to a lesser extent Clone Wars and Rebels too (again, shows that I truly love).

We're given the Fennec cameo to distract from the fact that nothing of any consequence happened, hell they didn't even really find out what m count means (which is ridiculous in itself considering how advanced technology supposedly is in SW). Not to mention they didn't do anything to advance the plot lines of this season - but that's okay every once in a while, which is why I give this a 7 instead of the ridiculous 1s-4s on here....

The Fennec scenes and more teases of Omega possibly being force sensitive are definitely worth the time for an actual fan of the show. Do I wish there was more? Sure, but I will always enjoy scenes of Omega and Crosshair bonding. Here's to the show closing out strong (and hopefully not *too* heartbreaking)

Not the best of the season, but an enjoyable episode nonetheless

Warning: Spoilers
After the two amazing episodes last week, expectations were set very high. And although this episode wasn't as good as the last two, it was still very enjoyable and I'd argue not "filler" because it continued the story. Seeing Fennec is always great, especially since she's voiced by Ming Na Wen herself. Hunter and Wrecker always make a good team and their chemistry with Fennec was nice, although the mission was pretty mundane. On the other hand we had Crosshair and Omega on Pabu as they tried to heal Crosshair's shaky hands. I must say seeing an amazing sniper like him with shaky hands is heartbreaking, and I continue to love the relationship between him and Omega. And I firmly believe that the person Fennec was talking to at the end of this episode was Ventress, as we saw her in the trailer. Overall, this episode was nothing crazy but developed the story and characters fairly well. 8/10.

Another entertaining filler
moritzherz20 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This episode has some great character development for Crosshair and features an entertaining subplot with the bounty hunter Fennec Shand.

Hunter and Wrecker seek information about the M-Hunt and therefore make a deal with Fennec Shand: They help her bringing in a bounty and therefore receive the information she has. This whole mission had great atmosphere and the trio worked great together.

However I felt that somwthing was missing this episode. In the end Fennec contacts someone who will get her the intel, but we do not get to know whom she is talking about. This could have been a great reveal at the end of the episode, torturing us one whole week to finally see a beloved character make his return. Now, we got nothing and that is a bit too little.

The episode is still absolutely worth watching, because of the many strenghts of this show that are in this episode, too. I know many of you don't like filler in general, but I do like them.

Hmm...

Warning: Spoilers
Okay so it isn't that bad but I have to admit the ending is frustrating.

You get this semi-interesting episode of The Bad Batch (and a very generic episode of Star Wars might I add), with a fairly cool character (Fennic Shand) and some genuinely exciting movements, like the river attack and the actual confrontation with the bounty hunter. The stuff with Omega and Crosshair was fine. I don't think it's as lame as people are saying it is. They're becoming good characters.

But then the episode just ends. Hunter and Wrecker don't get the information they're promised and it pretty much makes the episode feel like filler more than an episode that actually furthered the overarching stories about M-count or the actual Clones.

Production is as tight as usual and I did enjoy myself up until the end. It isn't one of the worst in the series, but come on... Even a cool reveal at the end would have made up for it a little bit. We should be past this in the final season of the series.

Again; these seasons don't need to be more than 10 episodes long.

This show is too inconsistent.
jasjkasjkasla20 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes an episode will be filled with plot, character moments and awesome stuff other times an episode will be tedious, have minimal character work and be the 15th monster fighting episode, unfortunately this one is the latter. Honestly I just wish we could get more episodes like the first and third of this season, episodes that while nothing spectacular are able to develop characters well and move the plot in a nice fashion. It's upsetting that the halfway point of the season is an episode like this, you'd think due to being near the end of the show we'd be consistently be getting the good stuff but we haven't. Hopefully the next episode is better.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled filler
jaxxds20 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
*Sigh* we can't have nice things, can we? The two previous episodes actually gave us something to be interested in and progressed the plot but now we go right back to filler that you can completely skip without missing anything. It genuinely feels like the writing team demanded that 3/4ths of every season should be filler.

This episode can be summed up as the bad batch wanting to know why Hemlock is after Omega so they ask Phi (that obnoxious pirate from season 2) to get them information who then directs them to Fennec because she was after Omega for Nala Se way back when so Hunter and Wrecker go find Fennec and ask her for information on the empire hiring bounty hunters to go after targets with high M counts but of course they are broke so Fennec has them help her with a bounty she's been having issues with. Joy abound. They capture the bounty near the end of the episode and Fennec reveals that she doesn't even have the intel they wanted but now that they helped her, she'll get it for them and they'll have to just trust her. Are you actually serious? They couldn't have been bothered to verify that she had the intel BEFORE they helped her? The only other thing that happens in this episode is Crosshair getting his hand checked out by AZ and he tells him that it's not physical but could be mental so he asks Crosshair to explain what experiments the empire did on him but Crosshair refuses. Then at the end Omega gets Crosshair to meditate like a jedi to try to heal himself. You may be wondering where she learned about that and I was too until she said Gungi (the wookie youngling) taught her it, which to that I call bs. There is no way she was taught anything about meditation, and if she did, she would know it's not something that "heals" you, especially if you're not force sensitive (unless this show is trying to say that she and Crosshair can now use the force).

After the last two episodes focusing on Rex, Echo, and their crew, and comparing it to this episode, it's clear that the writing team has genuinely no interest and puts no effort into trying to write well for the bad batch. The episodes that focus on them are so insanely dull and devoid of creativity. This show should have just focused on Rex and Echo with the bad batch as supporting characters (and Omega never even existing).
