It Must Smell Good
boblipton25 September 2013
It must be very pleasant to work in the perfume industry, according to this short industrial film. Outside the city of Crasse, everyone picks violets. Inside the city, everyone smiles: porters carrying sacks of violets, women infusing the essence of violets into alcohol and the ladies who tie ribbons around the bottles.

Of course, perfume is a far more highly evolved and scientific operation, That's hinted at by the one person who stands about, wearing a lab coat and what looks like a stethoscope -- the century-old print is pretty battered and it's hard to tell. There's no mention of ambergris, which is whale vomit, or musk glands from animals.

Those matters, of course, would not sell perfumes. So once you've learned that essence of violets from Crasse are used in perfumes, you've exhausted the educational parts of this short.
