Deen is awful & so is the movie
lor_13 December 2018
After effectively casting mysterious Asphyxia Noir in the title role (she's the best thing in the feature) Scott Allen fumbles the rest of the assignment. Death blow to the project is casting James Deen in the central, overbearing role as an ineffectual private dick, pun intended.

Story is intentionally cryptic and nonsensical, meaning it makes no sense. Deen is hired by smug Nick Manning to find a guy named R. Morris, with an ultimatum the guy pay up a debt with a tomorrow deadline. For the rest of the picture Deen wanders or drives around, is relentlessly dull and monotone as an "actor", and gets to whip out his dick and hump at every opportunity. This leads to a trick ending and such lousy filmmaking that his big-deal coda voice-over statement is drowned out by music.

So we're left with sex scenes in search of a movie. Noir is plenty hot in her XXX coupling with the non-hero, and Bridgette B steals the show as usual in an extraneous sex scene with Ryan Driller. Noir's real-life girlfriend Skin Diamond plays a sub and should please her fans, though adding no luster to her transition to a mainstream career subsequently.

Allen's frenetic editing and relentless closeup photography ruin the sex footage, leaving poor Wicked Pictures with a barely releasable mess. The incipient fantasy elements of the story are bungled, with the extent of our heroine's white witchcraft consisting of a hypnotic tea that sort of foams like dry ice.
