The plotline follows Minato talking to the Kyuubi. The Fox tells the 4th that he trusted Naruto to solve the problems of the future, he sealed him with the other half to cooperate, so he shouldn't regret what happened. Kushina's death wasn't his fault, and Naruto ending up like a jinchuriki didn't turn out bad. His son ic changing the world. In the meantime, Kurama tells Naruto that he has to tell him something. Obito is on the ground, surprised that as jinchuriki has a weak point. He is also aware that with the Juubi inside, he cannot use his space time ninjutsu. Naruto is happy because the attack worked, and explains Sasuke about the senjutsu. Tobirama silently praises him, as he understood the Hiraishin quickly, and is skilled in Sennin mode. He feels like fighting along his brother, implying a resemblance between Naruto and Hashirama. Still, he sees Obito recovering and warns the others. The jinchuriki decides to clean up the space for the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and raises a giant tree from earth. The tree develops some red big buds, and four big Juubi damas begin to form. Everyone is shocked, Kitsuchi guesses the rock walls won't be enough, Shikamaru starts to think, Minato and Tobirama tell they can only disappear two, while Hashirama is busy with Madara, who is not worried because they will return given the Edo Tensei. Still, a clone of the 1st encourages the shinobi, as they can try to delflect the bombs to the sea, but Obito prevents this after creating a red barrier, locking all of them inside. Tobirama insists that the only way is to take them out with the Hiraishin. Kurama and Naruto have an idea, and asks his father to bump fists. When they do this, the two Kuramas meet each other, and Naruto's one asks the other for chakra. Obito tells that Minato can't save anyone, he couldn't save his wife, nor his team. He reminds Naruto that tomorrow is the day, the anniversary of his parents death, and is going to be the end of the world. But Naruto says happily that then tomorrow is his birthday. And is not the end, he is still there. Minato thinks like talking to Kushina that their son has grown a lot. Kurama is glad to have his other half chakra, and the other says that the connection father and son also helps. Naruto tells the idea to his father, and asks if is possible or not. Minato wonders if Kushina already met Naruto, and thinks how sorry he is, for the hardships he must have faced. But Naruto, able to read thoughts while bumping fists, tells that the only hardship worrying is the current one. Then, Shikamaru is out of ideas, and suddenly, the cloak reappears on every shinobi. Sakura wonders how, so Katsuyu tells her that the cloak never disappeared, only was highly reduced. Choji notes that now the cloak is stronger, while the Hachibi realizes that this time both halves of the Kyuubi are acting. Jugo and Sasuke intended to escape with a summoning (like when Deidara exploded), but Naruto is quick to pass them chakra to make a cloak. Hashirama tells that this size of energy is compared to his own, until he realizes it's from the Kyuubi too. Obito still thinks the four Juubi damas will be enough, covers himself in the black shield, and activates the blasts. After the impact, all the shinobi are surprised to see that they're safe and out of the barrier. The Hachibi guesses that the 4th saved them, and Tobirama mentions that he saved the whole Alliance twice in the day. But Minato, as gentle and modest as always, tells that this is too little compared to all his failures. He says he has a lot more to compensate. When Jugo and Sasuke ask how they did it, Naruto begins to explain, but Tobirama ends up telling things more clearly: is the same idea than the Kage Bunshin, the Kyuubi's chakra was distributed in all the shinobis, so when the main body moved, everyone moves as well for resonance. Naruto was in contact to his father, who teleported him and everyone else with a cloak. Naruto then is surprised of how much he knows about the clones jutsu, so Tobirama has to tell that he invented that jutsu. On their subconcious, Minato starts calling the Kyuubi Kurama, and tells his son that he wishes he had more time with him. But Naruto says they don't need to talk to understand, with a look is enough. He also tells him he already met his mother, and the flashback of Kushina's last words is shown. At the end, Naruto tells his father that he knows what he wanted to say: the same as Kushina, his talky mother.

The episode continues an arc that is not so good, but by showing and focusing this part on Minato, his role as father, becomes touching and emotive. In many ways, he is like Jiraiya and Itachi. He berates himself for his mistakes, his failures, for the tragedies and dramas he couldn't prevent. And by not showing off his achievements, all what he did great, this only raises him as a person, as a character. When Obito was criticizing him, Naruto defended his father again, by focusing on his birthday, reminding that thanks to his father, he is alive. The moments at the end, replaying Kushina's last words, and all the thoughts Minato had, like wishing to talk to her, were beautiful. Once again, this amazing character, a good loving husband, caring selfless father. A gentle kind man, who won't even take compliments for saving all the shinobis twice. Then, I admit that the way everyone was saved was a good idea. Yet, the revelation that the cloak on everyone was just reduced is kind of convenient. I'll take the explanation considering what happens in the future: the cloak will only fully disappear from everyone if absorbed or if Naruto dies. About the rest, Tobirama remains as a good character, and started to accept Naruto as someone like his brother. Good hearted, sometimes fool, naïve, but smart on battle, skilled, powerful, serious when needed. To finish, Sasuke is going to feel jealous once again by noticing how much Naruto can do. The fact of not knowing senjutsu, is a bummer for him. Another fact to remark, is that Sasuke wanted to save with a summoning only Jugo and Naruto. He didn't care nobody else. This is the millionth proof of why the ending of Shippuden is horrible.
