Solid Randy and Rafi episode
nick-lines21 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I have to balance out the two one star reviews! I enjoyed this episode, it doesn't hurt to change the pace and after six seasons the League can become formulaic.

Maybe this kind of humour doesn't appeal to Americans, and they prefer the same safe jokes from the other episodes.

If you like other Seth Rogan comedies then this is more up your alley. I'll continue to watch the League, it's probably on its last season now, so lets see where it goes. The series appears to have lost some of the pep from the first season or so, and often goes off the boil.

Some good cameos in this episode. There were a few parts where I actually laughed out loud, so it's definitely not a one star ep...

Magic strikes again

After their original Rafi & Randy centric episode from last season, the dynamic duo ups the ant with some truly wonderful bits of poetry. While the show too regularly relies on dick jokes and sexual innuendos, the RnR centrics dwell into camaraderie, strong feelings, sceneries akin to Salvador Dali or Marcel Duchamps, just strong and beautiful material here. While their previous episode was a coming from a James Elroy meets Brian DePalma scope, this one starts where it left from with a DePalma-esque feel, but adds subtlety and some kind of Emir Kusturica grandeur. Everyone is fat, greasy, slobs, joyous and dark at the same time, like a strange cross of Miro and Bacon with some John K thrown into the equation. Now let's hope season 7 doesn't betray us and keeps up with this great American tradition that is the annual RnR episode. Just superb.

Don't waste time with this episode

Warning: Spoilers
The League is one of my favorite shows. At first it seemed like it could be one of those shows that you really enjoy but targets a small audience and get the boot after a season or two. To my pleasant surprise it continues to come back each season, and I hope that continues. The only exceptions to how great this show is are the two episodes centered around Rafi and Randy. The first one a few seasons ago was horrible and is the only episode I haven't watched over and over. THis weeks episode was similar so I deleted it after about 5 mins. Maybe the writers just ran out of things to laugh about this week, or maybe they think these episodes make you appreciate the others more. If this becomes a normal, however, the show will end. They are absolute garbage.

What the heck was that BS? Every time they focus an episode around non main characters it sucks. As does this one. I want to see what makes this show funny not some BS about Rafi and Dirty Randy. WTF!! I should charge you for wasting my time. These two characters are useless and cannot carry an episode on their own. Why would you write something like this. I cannot believe how bad this episode was. If I was a first time viewer I would not be viewing again. Rob Schneider's The Animal was better than this garbage and I shut that off after 5 minutes. I kept waiting for this episode to get better but it never did. I kept waiting for some of the main stars to show up but no. Here's a Spoiler Alert. It SUCKED!

SKIP THIS EPISODE (you'll miss nothing)

If you are streaming The League, skip this episode. Seriously SKIP IT!!! It's unrelated to the show and simply not funny. I guess they were trying to do a spoof on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest but it doesn't work. By mid show you are almost begging for them to stop trying.

It might have been funny - kind of - as a brief side story. Maybe. It's basically a two minute bit that goes on for 20 minutes. It feels like there is a lot of ad libbing happening with attempts at trying to one up each other. I'm sure they thought it was hysterical. Maybe you had to be there???

Hopefully this was an experiment that doesn't repeat itself. The League is normally much better. Frankly it can't be much worse or less funny.

SKIP THIS EPISODE!!!

Second Worst of the Series
thebrain5817 June 2022
Though a thousand times better than the prior episode (S5E4) featuring Rafi and Randy the two least likable / entertaining / realistic characters on the show , that prior episode is the only thing keeping this from being the #1 worst of the series. Not funny, not clever, childish, and downright moronic at times. Absolute waste of time.
