Third and last part is not really the charm.

Warning: Spoilers
It's not until near the conclusion that things really start hopping and once again, it's violently hysterical. Most of the episode surrounds the ramifications of the murder of Marc Singer in the end of the second episode or the legal investigation into the mob activity at 79 Park. Michael Constantine ant Jack Weston really go over the top as their stories hit emotional heights, but for the most part, the episode is talky and rather dull. The concluding confrontation between Lesley Ann Warren and Constantine is like something off of "Dynasty", and I find it hard to believe that the actors didn't giggle at the melodrama surrounding it all. Polly Bergen returns in a cameo, for some reason looking younger than she did in the second episode which took place a decade earlier.

The other issue is that so much time has gone by so the period in which it is set isn't as exciting to look at, and the script spends too much time on the legal goals of the politicians in the D. A.'s office (one of whom is her former lover David Dukes) to move into the governor's office. Yet, when the twists begin to get more intense, it's like every season finale of "Dynasty" rushed into just a few minutes. You can't possibly love this outside the camp elements and feel bad about laughing, but you'd start choking if you tried desperately not to laugh. So while not as fun as the previous two episodes, the one big twist is worth the wait.
