I wasn't able to go the theaters when it was released because I just really hadn't heard about it and it only lasted a day, wich is such a shame. Thank god I got to see it later, though. This film truly deserves to be appreciated. The dialogue is unaffected and smart. The characters are interesting, caring, funny; in sum, really well developed. The cinematography is just top notch (such a way of capturing the beauty of Perú). And the plot is just as real as it gets. There is no big mess or trouble at the middle to unravel at the end and I really believe that such structure is not a requisite to make a solid film that lasts in its viewers and this is a perfect example of that. From beginning to end this is a journey, a journey of friends with genuine passion for films and the struggles they face in their mission to share it with others. And though the premise might sound flat for some, I promise that this film is not dull for a second. It truly makes you feel invited, like you're another passenger in the car, one more friend, and by the end you realize that you are just as invested as they are. You may find yourself thinking that you kind of know them and that you relate to them, like you've made a connection, because they feel so real and so you feel like you've just shared something very intimate with them. And that is very rare and so difficult to achieve, which is why I think everyone involved in the making of "Solos" should be extremely proud. You don't find many movies like this one in the theaters and I hope that changes. P.D.: Joanna Lombardi, you're inspiring and this movie deserved way better from the cinemas.
