Directors Shawn Schminke and Troy Wells are the ones responsible for the insanity that is Nun Smack. Clocking in at just under an hour the nunsploitation flick is very aware of limitations of a $600 budget and plays them off in a very Meta kind of way. Rob Merrit as Roger, Brad Quinn as Damage are obviously on the amateur side of acting but nonetheless they bring humor to their roles as the dopey would be drug dealing 3 time losers. The Basic premise is simple, two goofs break out of jail, and inadvertently steal a car full of cocaine. They decide to sell it instead of high tailing it to the boarder. A drug deal gone bad leads to our boys finding refuge in a church with 3 nuns. Here's where the wackiness ensues. The nuns just happen to be coke loving horny murderesses. As in any exploitation film there is plenty of violence, stuff blowing up and a guy getting killed with a spoon. Along with all of this there is plenty of nun nudity and a ton of drug use. Yes I said nun nudity. Which means this might be a bit confusing for the catholic viewer or maybe just a fulfillment of a misguided fantasy. If you love self-aware comedy done on an anorexic shoestring budget , then check this out. As far as rating this movie, it gets an initial star just for being in the world and another for the topless nuns with guns and finally 1 star for the comedy. 3 out of 5 stars in all.
