I was very privileged to receive an early preview of this fine short film by Paddy Murphy and Celtic Badger Media of Limerick, Ireland. The story is set in Ireland during the fifties when the Roman Catholic Church was very powerful in Ireland. The Church was also very dogmatic and by-the-book when it came to the burial of the dead. The letter of the law was more important than the spirit of the law. This short eighteen minute film recounts the one day journey of a man who is determined to defy the strictures of his religion to do what he knows is his duty to perform: to help launch a tiny soul on their lonely journey to the spiritual realm. The final minutes of this wonderful Irish production is absolutely heart-breaking. The background music is very poignant and a perfect fit to the action on the screen.
