5.4.3.2.1 - Do or die!
asb_deutsch23 August 2017
First things first, Season 3 is a level higher than Season 1&2. Unlike Season 2 it was something that Flash doesn't lose himself and the team.

Secondly, I loved the song buy Aurora Aksnes...its just so beautifully sung. I hope she win some nice awards and wish her the best in the future.

Next, for how long Barry protects his love. What extreme measures you would do to protect the love of your life? Grant Gustin's performance has grown on me over the years- it is really expressive and on target. A little fun episode including King Shark and Snart. The horrific tune when Future Flash arrives was outstanding.

Finally, kudos to Michael A. Allowitz. Hats off to Greg Berlanti also for creating such an episode. He chooses emotions over action. The acting was awesome. I almost cried after getting absorbed by the song. :P

9.4? Are we talking about the same episode?

Warning: Spoilers
------------ SPOILERS AHEAD ------------- So let's start with the opening scene, with the sad music in the beginning we get a little touch of how the episode will be, sad. And I think the opening scene is already really good the director couldn't have done it better 10/10. The idea to bring Captain Cold in this cool way back is how I think nice because the chemistry between Barry and Snart is perfect in this episode they work perfectly together, the only thing that kinda was a little stupid is that Argus isn't really good guarded or doesn't have any alarm clocks so it's very easy for them to get in there but that is not to bad because it doesn't play a big role in this episode. The middle part was good but not awesome 9/10 The ending is the best that this series has ever done, I still can't believe it, the music is perfect, the camera takes are perfect, everything was perfect in this scene. This scene was perfect they give you an perfect impression of how sad the characters are and that is great 11 out of 10 points In my opinion the best Flash episode yet 10/10

Potentially the best episode of this season so far
AdamDroge17 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
After dragging our feet in varying degrees this season, we've finally arrived at the moment we've all been waiting for. The death of Iris. But will Barry be able to save her in real-time after watching himself fail when he went to the future?

Well, we'll get to that. But first, in order to complete the speed force bazooka gun, Barry teams up with Leonard Snart, who he recruited from the 1800's, to break into ARGUS. Because Lyla is being really dumb and won't let them borrow a certain piece of technology to help save Iris' life.

This who sequence was really cool. I don't know how Barry knew exactly what time period to go back to in order to get Snart, but I kinda just accepted that because I like seeing Snart back. I missed him as a season regular on Legends this season and I really think he needs to somehow return as a regular on either Flash or Legends because he's one of the best characters in this universe and deserves more than the occasional guest appearance. Having him and Barry team up as a hero and anti-hero pair was pretty darn awesome. The whole heist sequence was pretty cool and I really loved the King Shark battle and the clever fourth wall breaking with that Jaws reference. Because we all know that this show doesn't have the budget to do King Shark complete justice, but we forgive them for that and enjoy what little of King Shark we can get with a CW TV budget.

The only part I didn't like about the ARGUS heist was Lyla. Her unwillingness to help Barry at the beginning felt out of character. But we went that route anyways, yet the show wasn't able to commit to that as we had the cheesy moment at the end with her letting Barry and Snart go free.

All of this finally sets up our showdown that we've been building towards, since Team Flash's efforts to hide Iris go complete wrong due to Future Barry tricking them. And I don't want to be the idiot to say "I told you so," but this is the ending to this season that I kinda saw coming, although I didn't know if they were going to be bold enough to follow through with it and actually kill Iris. But it seemed like we were building towards Barry doing his best to save Iris, only to be unsuccessful at doing so. Which is exactly what happened in this episode.

That's not to say that it wasn't well done, though. Because it was. First off, the realization that stopping Savitar is darn near impossible was pretty great. Everything current Barry thinks of doing to stop Evil Barry is automatically uploaded, if you will, to Evil Barry's brain due to Evil Barry being from the future in that confusingly awesome sort of way. Because, yeah, we created a bunch of weird time loops in order to make this all happen, which I partially love and partially am super confused by. There was an "Oh crap" moment for me when I realized that their plan to shoot Savitar with the speed force bazooka was bound to be a failure because Savitar had already figured out a way to stop it. That was pretty genius.

Then we had a really emotional death wherein I really felt for Iris most of all. The future version of this moment was probably a moment where Iris was blindsided as she had no idea she was about to die until it happened. But this version was tragic because Iris knows that her dying is a big possibility and when the realization hits her that Team Flash's plan has failed to save her, that look on her face tore me to pieces. This coming from a person such as myself who hasn't always been on board with Iris every step of the way.

Now the big question is how is this going to turn out? Does this show have the guts to keep Iris dead and send Candice Patton home to work on her resume for her next acting gig? Part of me thinks that they're not going to do this and that somehow Iris will be saved even though we just saw her die. Because, you know, this is The Flash after all and people have a tendency of not staying dead due to this time travel thing. But I kinda hope that they keep her dead. And surprisingly I think I would buy this as necessary emotional weight heading into next season that will help take this show to the next level. Which is funny because I'm still furious at Arrow for doing the same thing to Laurel Lance, but I suppose that is a conversation for another day.

Summing things up with this episode, I think this was an absolutely brilliant episode that did a dang good job at leading into the finale. The heist was a lot of fun as it was great seeing Snart back on the show. The emotion was high and the death of Iris gave me all the feels that a proper death of a main character should give. Now I have no idea how this is going to get resolved, which makes me happy because now I am looking forward to next week's finale. I'm not sure if the finale will be quite as good as this episode as this might be one of those situations where the second to last episode ends up being the best of the season, but we'll see how this turns out.

Warning: Spoilers
So, we have been seeing the future for quite some time and in this episode finally that time arrived when Savitar kills Iris. Honestly, I did not really thought they would really kill Iris because now they have done so, we will see how she is brought back or what will Flash do to finally trap or kill Savitar.

Speaking of the Speed bazooka, I knew it will not be working at all because the writers would not want to make anything easy for the Flash. They wanted to make this show dramatic, emotional and show Flash completely torn apart and feel guilty about creating the Flashpoint and learn from the mistake he made.

As we know that Future Barry created time remnants to kill Savitar but only one of them survived, I thought if Barry does not create the time remnants this time, then the loop would somehow not happen again. He will then find another solution to stop Savitar or at least not let live him anymore, freely. So, I am assuming Barry will make the ultimate sacrifice. But what it will be? Maybe he will trap himself in speed force, like Savitar said he freed himself and let Wally take his place and then after that Jay Garrick took Wally's place after freeing him. Or maybe we were seeing the future once again that Savitar kills Iris?

The whole scene of stealing the energy source was super. I loved seeing Snart. It was great to see him and Barry break into Argus facility to steal the energy source. But of course that was not easy for them as King Shark is doing the job to protect it. I wish to see more Snart in the future episodes. I really miss him.

Overall, I loved this episode. We will see what happens in the finale. How Team Flash will survive this and what will happen to them post-Savitar.

Did We Really See What We Think We Saw?
brian-webb7418 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
For me, this was a great episode. The tension has been building for much of this season and the climax was worth the wait. I am not going to give a play-by-play review, but will focus primarily on the ending. By holding the Philosopher's Stone and overcoming the Speed Bazooka, the one glimmer of hope that Iris was going to survive the episode was smote. Then, as Flash bolted toward Savitar and Iris in slow motion, the agony of wondering if Flash somehow might get there in time, or if Caitlin or Vibe might show up, seemed to last forever. The foreboding was amplified by the song's title (Murder Song by Aurora) and tears began to well up as the scene progressed. Then, it was all over, and we realize that neither Flash, Caitlin, Vibe, Joe or anyone else could have stopped Savitar. I couldn't believe that Iris was gone. I wondered if it could be a trick, but know that the loss of a main character is sometimes necessary to move the story forward, and I moved on to a much happier show to wash away the pain of Iris' death.

Then, it happened.

Approximately 15 minutes later, an idea exploded across my brain. Maybe, just maybe, Iris is alive - and I think she is. Why was Savitar able to find Iris? Time Remnant Barry tricked HR, causing him to reveal her location. This caused HR extreme grief and feeling like not only was he not contributing to the team, he was actually a detriment. This is why I think HR decided to make the ultimate contribution by giving his life to save Iris. I think HR used his facial changy-thingy to "become" Iris, and tricked Savitar into thinking he had won.

Now, this theory appeases my softer side, but it doesn't address several things. First, Snart's comment, that Barry was only going to defeat Savitar by staying true to himself. Savitar is not going to go away just because he killed Iris. In his mind, he is now a god, so he is probably going become all the more obnoxiously destructive. So, Barry is still going to have to defeat him at some point. Secondly, the theory that Iris is still alive comes at a great cost. HR, with his drumsticks, his love of coffee, and his finishing of everyone else's sentences is one of my favorite characters on this show. I think Tom Cavanagh has proved to be a great actor with a big range, but this HR has been my favorite version by far, adding the perfect amount of levity. Although I was worried that the trend of changing his character each season was going to continue, it would suck to know that he wasn't coming back, even it if was to save Iris.

The Flash - S03E22 Infantino Street
j_forbesy17 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The Flash has started to heat up heading into it's last couple of episodes. This was an episode that was very much 2 halves for me. In many ways it felt like they wanted to do 2 story lines but they didn't have the time so it was shoved into 1 episode.

Firstly, I really enjoyed everything with Captain Cold and ARGUS. Miller's Cold has been one of my favourite characters in this universe and I really love ARGUS and Lila has a presence in Arrow. Throw in Killer Shark, some Dominator's tech and some cool easter eggs, and this had the ingredients to be a really fun episode. And this part of this episode was really fun. It was great seeing Barry and Snart's chemistry play out because they click so well together on screen. However there are 2 smaller bugs I had with this part of the episode. Firstly, this should of been a whole episode of them planning and executing the plan and it should of happened a little earlier in the season. Them trapping Savitar in the speed force has nothing to do with his identity reveal so this plan could have easily happened prior to the late reveal. Secondly, I didn't really like how they were simply given the tech at the end. We know Lila is a strong standing person so it was a bit odd that she simply handed it over. I think there could of been a better way where Lila let them leave with it and acted like she didn't know who it was rather than stopping them from escaping just to give it to them anyway.

The second side of the episode was the build up to Iris' death as well as the death itself. This part of the episode was pretty much perfect for me. I loved all but one thing about it, which I will mention later. I thought we got some terrific character moments with HR being mad at himself for revealing where Iris is, and a fantastic father/daughter scene with Joe and Iris coupled with some of Jesse L Martin's singing.

Onto the death itself, like many people I don't think Iris is gone. I'm sure there will be some explanation as to how they can bring her back and I'll probably be fine with it. However, I never thought we were actually going to get to the death scene. I thought that they were going to find a way to stop Savitar from killing her, instead it played out identical to what we have seen over this season. And despite seeing this scene so many times, I loved what they did to make it different. The use of slow mo, and Iris video message overlaying made this time around so much more emotional then any other time we have see it as a flash forward. They have built to this moment for so long and when it finally came, they did not let us down at all.

Onto the thing I didn't love, it bugged me a little that Cisco went to fight Killer Frost. I know this is another moment they have build up for so long, but I think it could have been held off for next week. We didn't get to see the conclusion of what happens in that fight so it made it feel like they just needed a reason to remove Cisco from the Savitar situation. If they pay it off well next week then I might change my view on it, but for the moment I would of preferred that they had Cisco present because it feels like the most logical thing to do.

Overall I loved this episode. While it had a couple of bumps in the road where the writers might of fudged a few scenes to make the plot flow better, it still had so many amazing moments that stood out for me. I'm extremely interest to see where they are going to take us for the finale and how they are going to deal with the death of Iris.

5..4..3...2...1.... and Bang I am Dead.. Really Sad and Awesome
yasin-engnr19 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The episode starting with the epic sad song, which BTW beautifully expresses that the Iris's dead is almost inevitable and that there's no way her destiny could be modified no matter how hard everyone tries. The Way Barry Allen and Captain cold teams up to steal the power source is incredible. The emotions running through Barry's mind from the last couple of episodes are really expressive. Joe's acting.. On Spot.. Iris is kinda meh.. Overall this is an episode that fulfills the requirement of intense build up necessary for the big season finale. Can't wait for 23rd May to Come.. 9/10.. Lovely Ending

"I only need two more things..."

Warning: Spoilers
So, OK, the first thing is checked, Iris is dead, what will be the second in the season finale?

My guess is that the second thing involves Barry killing Savitar, so that he can go full Darth Vader mode. This has been hinted a lot during the series: Flash thinks of killing Grodd, Flash thinks of killing King Shark, Flash thinks of leaving Snart behind to die, and so on.

I think that in the end he will commit suicide, somehow, or trap himself in the speedforce, and the loop will break, thus, Savitar will not have existed at all to begin with and things will go back to normal.

Captain Cold: hero of the ep
imakk200116 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
18 minutes in, the best part is the Barry/Snart 1824 convo. PLEASE let Snart and his Rogues be 1 of next season's arcs.

  • What was that with the weird Tracy intro to Barry?

  • Barry knows he shouldn't know where Joe takes Iris but absolutely can't see that Savitar knows about his plan to steal the alien power source or that team flash knows where Iris is.

+ Audrey Marie Anderson must have had loads of fun kicking Argus @ss!

+ Cheetah?! Suicide Squad!

+ Snart looked kinda interested in Argus' prisoners, perhaps contemplating his future Rogues???

+ Kinda cool: Lyla/baby Sara, speed canon power source tying back to the alien crossover, and Savitar tricking Iris' location from the team.

+/- St. Cisco once again picking up a down team member. Why couldn't he be like this with Caitlin?

+ No King Shark was permanently maimed in the making of this ep.

  • Rest of the ep was meh.

MVP: every scene with Snart. Thank you show for giving us AWESOME Snarky Captain Cold/Shark Expert defeating a $10M security system AND keeping Barry on the side of angels which also saved His Jawsomeness from a frigid demise. Love his lines about Cisco/Lisa, why he and Flash are frenemies, reminding Barry that he's supposed to be the good guy, and all his LoT easter eggs.

Score: an icy 8.

Also, I'm going with the switcheroo happened during the speed gun attack.

What an episode man!
ek_034 June 2022
Re-watching these early seasons and going back, especially to this episode, is such a breath of fresh air man. This episode was damn near perfection fam. Everything about it, the music, the tone, the acting, everything, was just perfect man.

Seeing what the show has become as of today is honestly sad to see man. Used to be one of the best thing on tv.

But ye, what an episode fam; 10/10.

Stay Bold
ThomasDrufke16 May 2017
After last week's debacle of an episode, Infantino Street picked up a bit with a few minor faults. Is Iris really dead? How will Barry stop Savitar now? And will Barry end up trapped in the speed force? I think the show has telegraphed most of the questions left unanswered, but hopefully the finale can still live up to the hype.

So Iris was officially killed off, at least for now. I've said from the start that the boldest thing this show could do is kill off the love of Barry Allen's life, but I'm not sure it will end up being the smartest move. That is, if she doesn't come back next episode. To my understanding, Barry must find a way to beat Savitar without time remnants and without giving into the anger that will be burning inside of him. If he doesn't do those things, then won't Savitar never be born? Clearly, this season has been about Barry being the villain to his own story, and how a lot of his choices to this point have been selfish. So to make the season come full circle, I think it only makes sense to have Barry trap himself in the speed force to further prevent Savitar from ever living? That way, the speed force could recognize Barry's sacrifice and reward him with Iris life. It just seems like something this show would do.

The rest of the episode was actually pretty fun, albeit with the dark undertone of Iris' death lingering. Bringing back Captain Cold for the heist of all heist was a fun addition and I'm glad it wasn't something that overshadowed the mission at hand (like the last episode did). Wentworth Miller's performance has grown on me over the years and I think I enjoy his presence more when he's not the over-the-top comic-booky villain and more of an anti-hero. Throw in a brief appearance by King Shark and we had ourselves a fun little episode. I will say though, I didn't totally buy into Lyla changing her mind about giving Barry the powerful device he tried to steal. It just didn't seem like the logical thing for her character to do.

This was a much better episode than last week's tonally off episode. Killing Iris off was a bold move, although I wasn't a huge fan of her last message for Barry, especially being played simultaneously with her death. Not the best editing work, but the episode was solid enough to ramp up my excitement for next week. I'm still betting on Iris being alive by episode's end and Barry trapping himself in the speed force on purpose to make the ultimate sacrifice.

+Snart

+Fun adventure with some dark undertones

Fantastic episode with the exclusion of ridiculous Snark
larosat-3282120 May 2017
This episode would have been a 10 if it wasn't for Captain Moron who literally ruins any scene he's in. The actor's over the top hamminess is awful and nauseous to see. Truly the worst character in the DC Universe; even topping the abomination that is HR. Hopefully it is he who is dead and not someone else. Other than these two obnoxious characters, it was an outstanding episode with a lot of emotional moments and a jaw dropping ending. Let's hope they end the season on a perfect note and kill smarmy Snark again ( if only ).

Hard to suspend disbelief
scottyent1 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
While I overall liked this episode, there was one thing that really took me out of it and made the final death hard to stomach.

They've discovered that Barry and Savitar share their memories, great. They come up with the genius idea to NOT tell Barry where they're hiding Iris because if he knows then Savitar knows. All is good with the plan, and I was left thinking wow how can Savitar find Iris on Earth-2?!

Well how Savitar finds out is the most illogical part of the whole episode. Barry and Captain Cold get the power source and Barry supposedly speeds into star labs to let them know he was successful. He asks how things are going, and HR just IMMEDIATELY BLURTS OUT that Iris is safe on Earth-2 with Harrison Wells.

Then gasp, they discover it's not Barry it's Savitar. Uh oh!

WHAT?! They play it off the rest of the episode like oh it was a mistake any of us could make, we were tricked, etc. But that makes zero sense. Even if they thought it was Barry, literally the whole plan was don't tell Barry where Iris is because then Savitar knows. So HR's mistake was forgetting the whole plan and just yelling the location of the one person they're supposed to protect? Was that really what they were getting at? Are they trying to say the whole plot is contingent on one person just being a complete idiot?

It was hard to watch the rest after this. All of it could have possibly been easy to prevent, just don't tell Savitar or Barry where Iris is.

This hole in logic unfortunately threw me down the rabbit hole of other obvious ways they could have saved Iris:

1) they discover in this exact episode that ARGUS has a massive facility where there is A POWER DAMPENER. Lyla seems like she wants to help but didn't want to give away really dangerous tech. Why not put Iris in the building and let them protect her? Savitar wouldn't have his powers. Even better, pick the same building on another earth. Good luck finding that!

2) Why not take Iris ANYWHERE else? Cisco can open a portal to anywhere in any universe. I mean come on. Talk about a needle in a haystack. How about a super secret base in super high tech universe that Barry doesn't even know about? Then don't tell him. Even if you accidentally blurted it out he wouldn't know exactly where it is.

Overall I think the build up to this episode was great, and the season plot is great. I also think killing Iris is the right move so we really feel like wow they can't fix this. But if they just used a little more logic for how Savitar found her, this would have been perfect. I was more than willing to accept the whole philosopher stone stops the bazooka thing just not how she was found.

How Are More Fans Not Dinging This Ep For HR's Ridiculously Implausible Screwup?
dckgrysn66631 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
As at least one reviewer has already pointed out, it makes ***ZERO SENSE*** that HR would blurt out Iris's location to Barry/Flash; never mind that it turned out to be Savitar posing as Barry. This episode specifically spent time emphasizing how anything Barry knows Savitar will also end up knowing through magical 'real-time' speed force memory updates. It was established that the most important thing about hiding Iris away was that Barry couldn't know her location. If Barry doesn't know where Iris is, then neither does Savitar. We all get it. But then HR blurts out Iris's location to imposter-Barry/Savitar anyway, and the already significant amount of disbelief that one must always suspend to enjoy shows like this suddenly becomes more than just heavier-it becomes a challenge from the show's creative team to the viewer, and that challenge is something like: We dare you to let us be this lazy, to accept us contradicting the logic of our own storytelling even within the same timeframe as we're establishing it. Obviously most fans accepted the challenge. I don't get it. Most aspects of this episode were better-than-average Flash fun, and I am an overall fan of the series-i.e., totally forgiving re: fun over sense-making when it comes to all the time travel shenanigans. But that HR moment..., man, it totally broke the spell of entertainment for me. And it was insulting. Makes me sad to see this as such a highly rated episode.

The Final Hours
cobi-8062017 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This episode had a great balance of fun, action, adventure as well as drama and darkness. Much similar to the penultimate episodes of past seasons it had Captain Cold helping the good guys and a death scene at the end of it. However, unlike last season it was something we knew was coming all along.

Like almost every other episode since the mid-season finale Team Flash works on a way to prevent Savitar from murdering Iris. As it was teased last episode that they need the Dominator power source we spend about a third of the episode with Barry and Captain Cold executing a heist to get the thing from ARGUS. The heist doesn't go quite according to plan when they find out that King Shark is guarding the power source. King Shark is one of the coolest looking villains around so it's always fun to see him return even if for a short amount of time which they even joke about in the episode by making references to Jaws. I really like the dynamic between Barry and Leonard. Aside from Thawne and I guess in a way as well Savitar, Snart is the villain that Barry has the most history with. It's quite unfortunate that Captain Cold is dead in the present time because he was and sort of still is one of the best Flash-villains. If they could bring him back to life by any means, really by ANY means, I'd be overly joyful.

During the heist we also got a tease of the new Suicide Squad which would consist of: Grodd, Cheetah(!), Cupid and I guess King Shark as well. Perhaps this is something that will be explored next season, hopefully.

I really liked the scene between Iris and Joe on Earth-2. It was nice to hear Jesse L. Martin sing again and them both share some happiness despite knowing what could happen later that day. She gave him the ring which explains why she doesn't wear it when Savitar kills her. The way Savitar tricked the team to give up Iris's location was great and I did not see that coming.

The Savitar and Killer Frost scene where she questions him if he's ready to kill Iris felt odd. Savitar has shown no remorse or doubt before this episode and questioning his dedication now in the penultimate episode seemed pointless. At the very least it did somewhat strengthen his motivations if only by a little.

I couldn't help but notice that Julian was missing this whole episode and that could be due to budget but it still seems weird that he would leave on the day of Iris's murder of all days. I suppose he could be working on a cure for Caitlin.

Finally we get to the ending scene. Savitar arrives with Iris, Barry gets the speed-bazooka and opens fire on Savitar's armour. Since nothing in the world of Flash works on the first try the plan fails. Savitar reveals why it didn't work and that's because of the philosopher's stone which is in fact made out of calcified speed force energy, so literally a piece of the speed force. Explains why it could give people powers. The stone works as a shield against the speed-bazooka. Realizing everything about this moment is coming true Barry begs Savitar to not go through with it. The scene plays out just like the one we saw in the mid-season finale, ending with Barry crying over Iris's lifeless body while sad music is playing.

All in all a fantastic episode from start to finish. Loved the heist with Barry and Captain Cold vs. King Shark. The build up to the final scene was great with everything about the mid-season finale tease coming true. How will this all be altered in the season finale? Let's wait and find out but I'm at least expecting some awesome action scene between Barry and Savitar.

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Infantino Street
lbramson9 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Barry teams up with Captain Cold in a race to save Iris's life. The penultimate episode is the best of this season without question! Infantino Street is a beautifully written episode with a glorious ending! They did it! They actually did it! They killed off Iris...until they didn't, but that's a story for another time. We all expected them to save Iris because she's important blah blah blah, but no, they leave the audience's jaw on the floor from pure shock. Infantino Street is the final pay off moment the season had been leading up to the whole time. The music, the slow mo, the acting, everything came together to pull of the perfect end. What an episode! 10s across the board, baby!

The Flash: Infantino Street

____________________________SPOILERS AHEAD____________________

Overall this episode is very sad. It started with a very dramatic opening and ended with the Iris-Savitar incident.

There are also things that i need to point out.

What is wrong with Lyla? At first she refused to aid Barry but then she ended up helping him anyway.

Why won't Barry get the finished Speed Bazooka in the future? It just makes no sense to me.

I sure hope the final episode for this season of The Flash will not disappoint us fans.

This so-called super hero action/adventure show has already deteriorated into a very poor soap opera. And what the hell was the purpose of the count down clock until Iris dies? Really? Sheesh! KILL HER OFF ALREADY! Quit milking the barfing romance for all it's not worth. Stop writing uninteresting soap opera bs and get back to making it a super hero action show.
