This might be the best episode so far of series 2. Owen Hall's lesson of the week is surviving interrogation, especially Enhanced interrogation techniques which is a fancy name for torture.
The recruits challenge is to torture Owen until he cracks and tells them an important code name. Obviously we expect Owen to be a dab hand at surviving torture techniques which he does for some hours, I guess he goes through this exercise several times a year. The important part is other people's reaction. Alex and Harry are reluctant to overstep whatever the acceptable line is. Ryan, León, Dayana and Sebastian decide to go further and waterboard his daughter Lydia in his presence.
Dayana seems to know more about torture techniques than others, this could be related having grown up in Zimbabwe. Does this mean she was tortured herself or involved in it?
These events are related to the presence as Alex is held captive and interrogated herself including others bought into the room, this includes Dayana who is threatened and hurt in order to make Alex reveal information regarding the hard drives.
However the episode ends with a surprising rescue attempt but is it really a rescue?
