Being a Kannadiga who doesn't speak Bengali but Still I thoroughly enjoyed the Movie with the help of the English subtitles. I really liked the Movie and also the acting of all the lead characters. The cinematography is top notch and so is the editing. But cannot say a perfect or the best thriller I have seen but still a very decent one time watch. But I quite couldn't understand the ending of the Movie? Can anyone help me understand the ending of the Movie please. Thanks in advance for your help

A good film, that could be better
mukherjeesibabrata30 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Good story, nice location, cinematography is also nice.Direction commendable. The movie progresses with enough suspense . I found everything nice with the film. But as an ordinary viewer I failed to understand why Jonaki, the lady who went missing, around whom the story moves about, was not rescued. It is sort of an injustice to the common viewers.

Khoj - Brilliantly crafted!!
ghosh_debashri25 August 2017
This review comes a little late but then its lasting impact which compelled me to pen down my review even after almost three months of its release itself speaks volumes of the quality of the movie. I had watched #Khoj in the first weekend itself. The movie is an awesome blend of mystery and drama coupled with superb cinematography! The brilliantly crafted narrative did not for once make the audience feel that the director was a debutante. The narrative kept me at the edge of my seat throughout! The film can boast of superb acting by all and special applause goes to Vikram Chatterjee and Shataf Figar. Both of them left a mark with their matured, restrained acting. Kudos to you guys. The dramatic end makes you think and leaves you asking for more. A must-watch for all cine- lovers. For me, Khoj has definitely raised the bar of Bengali movies. Please do watch #Khoj if you haven't yet...else you will miss out on a great movie.

I Don't Know What The Hell Happened With This Film
AIOS-Reviews12 January 2018
The movie was going well even with very simple acting, but somehow the got more idiotic...!! It is very sad to see that such a great thriller it could be, but it became a devastating thriller. Firstly acting was not too good for a bengali thriller, we already saw such bengali thriller like baishe srabon, chatuskon where you just can't tell that acting was not good, But in this movie directing was not that bad, but I am impressed with good music directing, After all it could be a great film, but somehow its lost the track Watch it at least for once because I saw many people like this devastating flim..!! My Review(5.5/10)

A must watch
bavrabi5 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
It is one of the best Bengali thriller ever watched by me. Cinematography is excellent. So are the music and location choices. The story is gripping and keeps you glued to your seat till the last minute. Acting of both Sataf Figar and Vikram Chatterjee are outstanding. It is a must watch for those who want to see a good movie.

Do not bother wasting your time
tachyon1218 November 2017
First of all, the reviews and rating are over hyped.

Second, pathetic acting and story telling. Sometimes, I just wanted to stab my self by seeing the pathetic acting.

Third, where was the suspense?

Bengali thrillers can do much better than this. At least get a story first!

Great mystery thriller
gabose6 October 2017
Watched the movie and must say it was excellently crafted, putting to use the fantastic locales the film was shot in. The story was gripping, leaving one wondering what would happen next, the mark of a great thriller. The acting of the main characters Sayan Bose and Prashant Chowdhury was outstanding! For a first time movie maker, Arka Ganguly has proved himself a contender in the Bengali movie industry. Congratulations to the entire team of Khoj!

first 20 minutes was good, then everything was diluted .
deepgeny20 December 2017
First of all, there was no suspense. everything was loud and clear after first few minutes. Below average acting, weak plot, plenty of loopholes. pathetic acting. All the people who have given above 9 starts, most probably written by close associates of the makers, which is evident from the brand new accounts.

Khoj- A mind-blowing thriller crafted perfectly!!
dwiminew5 October 2017
So finally its Khoj, even with a fractured leg I didn't miss the chance of watching this film rather I couldn't resist myself, after watching the trailer everyday from the day it was released.

The trailer of the film was so exciting that expectations were very high, and the director Arka Ganguly, surpassed all levels of expectations and gifted us with a masterpiece at the first stroke & I really lack adjectives to praise your art of work.Respect for u Mr.Director.

This masterpiece of yours,at least for a while made me think,Is it really a Tollywood Film that I am staring at? The real essence of the movie was by the stunning location which created a perfect ambiance for this thriller. The curvy hilly roads and the mesmerising scenic beauty took us into the movie and throughout the movie it felt like I was at the location itself.

The movie has got the appropriate pace that is needed for a thriller and the plot of the movie goes without any flaws. Here,it would be a sin not to mention the cinematographer Ripon Chowdhury who worked so aptly hand in hand with the director and gave birth to such a cinematic brilliance. The excellent talent you exposed in this movie is remarkable and will be in our mind and heart for a long long time. The perfect use of natural locations and natural light gave a total different beauty to the movie. The raindrops, the fog,the misty lights and silhouettes was exceptionally praiseworthy.

Now,to the end I should comment on the brilliant performance of the two leading actors Vikram Chatterjee & Shataf Figar.Sayan Bose & Dr Prashant Chaudhury just nailed it so very well which can't be explained in words. Both of them were awesome and they have a long way to go and give us much more such surprises. The other characters Jeevan, Rose and Jonaki were equally fantastic. Every one did justice to their characters & made it feel very authentic & original. Perfection seems to be the keyword for this thriller and this made my urge for much more from Mr.Director in future. The ending just left behind many questions in my mind and it was like "Somethings are always better left unsaid"

Lastly,I have to mention the young police officer of Rimtik P.S Sayan Bose just swayed my heart away and I was just speechless to see him, he is the sole reason I overcame all difficulties to reach the theatres.

Loved it Team Khoj & waiting for the next endeavour.

Over-acting of the lead actor, incoherent dialogues and dragging screenplay ruined the movie
samasamrin17 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, the dialogues didn't make sense. A conversation between the police officer and the lost woman's husband went like this:

-"arrest me" -"I'll arrest you!" -"Arrest me if you can. " -"Do this or I'll arrest you tomorrow!"

He himself just told you to arrest him. Why are you threatening him about being arrested??

-"Go to that bungalow and figure out who killed her." -"So you know everything but don't want to tell us?" -"That's your responsibility to figure out"

Why no question about how he knows about that bungalow? Any concerned police officer would ask that first. Also, that would save the next 10-20 minutes.

Moreover, the lead actor's performance seemed like the ones from a typical Bengali serial/drama. It was overacting. The side actors however underperformed. There was hardly any chemistry between the lost woman and her husband. Even the villain was not scary at all. Only the lead actress playing the lost wife was convincing. The overall acting of the cast was pretty dry and didn't make me feel anything for them. Neither remorse, nor tension.

Also, the screenplay seemed boring and even annoying at times. All in all, this movie was below average. The only good thing were the camera angles and the scenic beauty.

Ultimate Disappointment.
bekriative30 July 2020
I accidently stumbled upon this movie on youtube and since it was so acclaimed I deceied to try it out, the movie starts on a good path but turns into complete trash. This isn't a 'thriller' it is a tragety with no logic whatsoever - two hours of my life I will never get back.

Spoiler allert!
shankhadutta3 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Young Cop sayan started investigating a mysterious missing of a doctor's wife who was mostly unseen by their neighbours and he suspected that the doctor was hiding some truth from police. Suddenly the doc tried to commit suicide. After primary treatment, sayan accompanied him to doc's home from the hospital and asked him to cooperate. Pursueded by him, finally the doc broke his silence and revealed the past incidents around them. After the Doctor was transferred to this small hill station, Doc's wife Jonaki made a new nepali friend there named Rose. Rose and her husband Jeevan (appeared to be a rough guy who had a timber business) was their neighbour. Jonaki and doc once invited them for dinner where rose touched the doc seductively when he was alone in a room to bring drink and Jeevan got drunk. One day when jonaki spent a night in Kurseong to meet some old friend, Rose came and seduced the doctor to bed. The next morning when Jonaki just arrived home, Jeevan came and showed them the sex-video of previous night in his phone and threatened him to spread the video if Jonaki would not visit him at night in a specific Bungalow. When Jonaki met him, jeevan asked her to be escort for his clients. Jonaki asked for mercy but Jeevan dragged her towards the bungalow when the doc came and hurt Jeevan on head but did not find Jonaki anywhere. Then doc broke Jeevan's mobile phone and and burried Jeevan thinking he was dead, then went back home but he couldn't go to police as he would also be charged for killing Jeevan. Doc knew only that much of the mystery.

Later it was revealed thet Jeevan was only fainted but not killed. When Doc was calling her wife by name Rose pressed her hand on Jonaki's mouth, then she dug out Jeevan and they brought her to an abandoned bungalow where Jeevan made her work as a prostitute for 8 months until Rose blackmailed doc to withdraw all his savings to keep her mouth shut. But Jeevan killed Rose and burnt her body, then locked jonaki in an old unused well because he couldn't let police find her dead or alive otherwise the doc wouldn't be trapped.

Jeevan was killed by sayan and burnt deadbody of Rose was found. Everyone thought it was Jonaki but sayan suspected that If it was jonaki then where would rose go but found nothing.

In the last scene we saw nobody noticed the well but when sayan just started his jeep to go back he heard a girl screaming. The film ends here indicating about Jonaki's rescue by police.
