The Making of a Chilling Tale (1982)

This here was just one of a couple promotional films that were made to try and sell John Carpenter's THE THING to ticket buyers. If you grew up in the 1980's then you probably remember these small promotional pieces that were made to try and draw interest to that film. For the most part this one here is mildly entertaining, although THE MAKING OF 'THE THING', another one of the promotional films, is a little bit longer and better, although they both share a lot of footage. This one here will certainly appeal to fans of the film since it features interviews with Carpenter and Russell but, as I said, this here is the lesser of the two because of it only running five-minutes (compared to the other's nine-minutes).
