Well, there's two hours of my life that I will never get back. The movie had the potential for a good plot, but fell very very short. First of all, it was much too long of a movie for what it was. It's like they couldn't figure out how to end it, so they just kept it going. I understand that they didn't have a large budget to work with in order to have some good actors/actresses, but the acting was really bad. The acting was flat and emotionless in a movie where the characters should have been showing tons of emotion. Overall, the characters did a really bad job of selling the story. It's movies like this that make me wary of watching movies with no big name actors, directors, producers, etc....

This one starts with some woman staring at a candle. Nevermind. Some woman is having a bad dream. She wakes from the dream from a little brat waking her up trying to scare her. I can tell this one is going to be bad if this will be the acting quality. The kid is annoying. Terrrible kid acting here.

So a kid shows up, kid answers door. Says I live down the street, im locked out of my house, can i come in and use your phone, and bad actor kid lets kid in. Bad actor kid goes and gets sister who has the phone, they both go downstairs, but visitor kid is gone...
Wow as this goes on it just gets harder to watch. Boring rants about the history and family story. Bad acting. And Bad Story.....
-1 Star not even halfway thru and totally bored and in shock at the bad acting.....
So at this point Mommy is lured into the woods by some glowing eyed thing a jig...and she's almost snatched up but manages to escape in her car. Not sure why she was out there in the woods anyway......
So wait, the kids and mommy meet and discuss this ghost girl they keep seeing, Samantha or whatever her name is. And mommy is having these bad dreams about some wierd forest creature coming to get them. So after this female bonding session mommy and daughters are absolutely united in strategy of how to deal with this MENACE!!!
Wait what now? One sister looks up the old family that lived at her house, and meets the young girl who used to live there. The girl tells her story of when she lived there her parents kept a girl in the basement, captive to protect her. What??? How the hell would this go on undetected for so long and still be kept secret? LOL
-1 Star again for dumb dumb really dumb story.....
This is really bad.. Really really bad. The actor who plays the cop tho, he seems like the only actor worth anything in this. But then the cop he's confronted by this creature in the woods too and has his own voice thrown back at him along with imitated gunshots??? Okay I take it back about what I said with the cop lol.
What?? Okay I'm done. Sorry this one just did not make it. Still 48 minutes left too and I'm shutting it off. Horrible Horrible thing this is. A monstrosity !!!!!! Do not waste your time!!! 1/10

The film's actors are stilted, nearly always rigid with poor dialogue and poor presence. The director places them in repetitious positions for his shots and simply bores the loving be.... out of the viewer. It's almost like one of those religious instructional films, trying to be cool and never quite achieving coolness. Poor film all around.
Good Low Budget Horror Flick

This was another Amazon Prime offering that got recommended to me. It was a good low budget offering made in rural NJ or PA. It had a unique angle of making the family in question Orthodox Jews. It had a fairly good core cast of the mother, two daughters, a local friend of the kids and some co-worker friend. Some of the lesser roles were done by actors who barely did more than remember their lines. While it had a monster of sorts, a moloch, skin walker or golem, I'm not sure, it was low budget but done fairly well like the rest of the effects. For a low budget horror film, it had a good plot and a passable bunch of actors. It also had no more than a little blood and violence, so gore freaks will be turned off. It definitely didn't rely on special effects and jump shots. I think the director/writer Ryan Callaway will progress and do better movies.
