The Burglary
Prismark1011 April 2018
More prove that John Cleese's Phil is not another clone of Basil Fawlty as he consoles neighbour Mr Dugdale after his dog has died, even though Dugdale thinks a bad taste joke is coming anytime soon.

However Wendy does bring the abrasive side of Phil who calls round to tell Edith that Roger is behind on the mortgage and she has dreams of violently stabbing him.

Meanwhile a burglar is loose in the neighbourhood, despite Roger's inept burglar deterrent is of no use as someone breaks into Edith's house, cooks breakfast and plays music loudly. he literally is an armless burglar who wants to get caught so he can have a warm spell in prison.

It turns out the burglar Bob Whitley was once an old flame of Edith back in the early 1960s and he still has the brass neck asking her to go out with him again.

When the police arrive they are more interested in Wendy and Roger over a stolen car than arrest Bob the burglar.

Another mildly amusing episode enlivened by the tenderness Phil shows to Mr Dugdale and James Cosmo's charming performance as the cheeky, one armed rogue.
