I really liked the first episode. The tone was somewhat refering to an adult audience which is a relief for a story with a teenager protagonist. Everything was satisfying! The casting and the acting itself, the directing even the music! I am big fan of the Alex Rider series and tried hard to remain objective while watching it and yes my high expectations where more than fulfiled!

Took me awhile to finally be able to get to this show. Glad I finally did. Familiar but Intriguing premise. Not too sure how about the believability of the Alex character is at this point in the show, as we only see him actually like a regular teenager for a few seconds. But the twists so far a rather good. Looking forward to what's next.

Personally I liked the film of 'Stormbreaker'. Obviously people disagreed and Anthony Horrowitz later claimed the Alex Rider books were never suited to film in the first place. I'm not sure I agree, I just think 'Stormbreaker' came out around the same time as a lot of other young spy films ('Agent Cody Banks'/'Spy Kids' etc).
Obviously undeterred though he teamed with Amazon to bring us this ambitious 8 part series based on the 2nd book 'Point Blanc', that also incorporates elements of 'Stormbreaker'.
To use a Bond analogy - if 'Stormbreaker' was 'Die Another Day' then this is 'Casino Royale'. It's all a bit darker and edgier, there's more talking than action and being a spy looks suitably less fun.
I did spend a bit of time here thinking which interpretation/portrayal of the characters I preferred on screen, but this does shape up to be a lot of fun. Maybe 8 parts is a bit ambitious though.
