Great vibes

A relevant hit back in the day mostly because of this music video showing the power of mass communication when internet was at its infancy with text messages and social medias. The idea conveyed in "Have a Nice Day" is all about new trends and what goes viral with young people, here examplified when Jon Bon Jovi hands out an autograph to a fan on a CD of his with a red cover on it and he signs it with a smiley face but with eyebrows turned down, like a bad guy giving a smile. Next thing he and his band mates know, the whole city had stickers with such sign, people are wearing clothes or wearing items with the same sign, and the more grown ups in New York City are fed up of seeing this sign/brand/element being shared ad nauseum.

One can't go wrong with enthusiastic and positive vibes in a song, and Bon Jovi hits a great spot in simple ways. Sure, it's not energic and amazing as the good old days of "Livin' on a Prayer" or "Born to Be My Baby" but at that time it was something really good, fun and I like to think the fans loved it. It was highly memorable because of the video, it didn't had much radio airplay and let's say that back then radio was a key factor since YouTube was around the corner waiting to come out. It takes me back to great times. 8/10.
