Sheep dog tales
Prismark1018 September 2017
Life as a hill shepherd in Wales is not easy that applies equally to his horse and his sheepdogs.

We explore the sheep farmer and sheepdogs in this pre world war 2 documentary. He tends to his sheep and for that he needs his horse to navigate the hills and the dogs to accompany him to keep control of them.

Yet the farmer instinctively knows when something is wrong. As we see here, the sheep might be about to give birth during lambing season, finding a sheep another lamb as a replacement for her dead lamb and the cunning way he makes sure that she will give milk to the impostor lamb. Plus we see him rescuing a sheep and lamb that fell off a ledge.

Then of course the way the sheepdogs are on the hunt of a predator attacking the sheep.

This is a short documentary but rather interesting and informative even though you are aware some of it was set up for the camera.
