A step in the right direction. No Rick Fox

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a bit rushed but a step in the right direction, more in terms of casting. Maybe the producers just want a fresh start for Seaosn 4. I love the additions of Beau Bridges, Sean Blakemore, and Anthony Montgomery (from previous 3 episodes) and I enjoyed the ABSENCE of Rick Fox, arguably one of the worse castings from Season 2, who should not have re-appeared Season 3. Hopefully the writers and producers are planning to officially write him off for Season 4.

I hope we will see more of Sean or Anthony working with Merle Dandridge as potential new love interests or the producers are on a search for an actor to work with her in that manner. Too bad the actor Stephen Bishop was wasted with his one episode. His character likely would have been a great potential love interest for Grace and he is a good actor to work with Merle Dandridge. Maybe his character can reaapear somewhat re-written to work with Grace in the future.

Merle Dandridge has yet to have an actor playing her love interest who is on her level acting wise, although it should be noted that Benjamin Patterson (Noah) was MUCH better than Rick Fox when it came to having chemistry with Merle Dandridge, so it offset any limitations in terms of his acting. So many fans to this day still ask for Noah, likely for that reason. Noah and Grace were more believable, something that can't be manufactured. Rick Fox seems manufactured. It feels like the producers are trying to force us to believe he has chemistry with the show and the actress. He does not. Hopefully if we get a new love interest for Grace, the next actor will have the chemistry that Ben had with Merle and some really good acting chops. Rick Fox ain't it and the lack of interest in his character from most fans should be the indication the producers need. His scenes with Merle tend to come off goofy or disingenuous and it is unfair to the actress in my opinion. The finale is set up perfectly for Grace to dump his character officially and give her the shift she needs and find a new love interest.

With the absence of Darius, Grace is back to being more complex and is able to explore the Greenleaf world more and also interact with more of the actors. With the addition of Anthony and Sean and their characters already interacting more with the Greenleafs, we likely will get the best of both worlds with the Grace character, if either of them becomes her love interest. We will get stronger scenes of her with a potential new love and more scenes with her family. I hope Season 3 is the last we will see of the Darius character. Let us pray.
