Fun and unexpected
yeejunru12 October 2017
Sauce is a short film about a young man invite a young wahman to his place and has a lovely meal. It is very clear that the short try to pull off some 'Italian family' thing and also kind of a cute commentary. It's kinda dark, the opening editing is a little mess, few shots got the camera off, especially the 'money shot', a little wasted there, but overall Sauce is a fun dark comedy, probably not appropriate to kids if your family's a gigantic puss

Very atmospheric and unpredictable short film

Warning: Spoilers
I have been a fan of Ralph Sepe Jr.'s Youtube channel and short films, but I won't be bias just because I am a big fan. of him. If this short film sucked, I would say it sucked. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked how the low budget didn't show. I liked the atmosphere with the old Italian music while the characters were killing the girl and using her blood to make tomato sauce. I liked the performances. I liked the unpredictable story. In all it was good and I would recommend this. It's free to watch on youtube and definitely worth a watch. i give this a 7/10

Ya done good Ralph!

"B*tch you da sauce!" Hahaha

No, this was actually pretty good for a YouTube short film. Well shot, extremely funny, and Ralph's roots to Italian culture really shine here.

The sound design/effects are pretty good in the restaurant. Although in the beginning there's a shot with the three men talking across the street and the ADR was very noticeable. It sounded as if you were right next to them, but the shot was across the street from them. But these are common mistakes for beginners shorts and I've made far worse mistakes in my shorts.

Overall I really liked it, but I don't really know how to rate it so I won't. Would recommend tho!

Brilliant and Twisted!

Warning: Spoilers
This 4 minute short is inspiring and brilliant! If you don't want spoilers then do not read on. The ending of this short really caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it but, knowing Ralph's videos, expected something twisted and eerie. The beginning of the short seemed calm and well directed. The dialogue was good as well as the acting. The accents did seem out of place and unrealistic though. Also the dubbing seemed pretty bad. The beginning seemed very slow but I think that was on purpose. This makes the ending catch you off guard. And speaking of the ending, oh my GOD! It's so brilliant! There are also small little details while they're eating her. Such as there are small body parts strung everywhere and they are using her sweater as a napkin. There are plenty of mistakes and little things that takes me away from this short but I have to realize they wrote, shot, and edited this in only 48 hours! A definite 7/10!

Short, sweet, to the point

Warning: Spoilers
Great short, for something made in 48 hours and is more or less Ralph and his friends having a bit of fun, it certainly doesn't feel that way. My one complaint is that when Ralph comes out to chop off the girl's hand he shouldn't have said anything. It's a hilarious line, but I feel like the moment works better silent. My favorite part was probably when Ralph wiped his mouth with the girl's sweater, that was pretty funny.

Surprising and Fun

Sauce was an unexpected and hilariously written short film. The only thing keeping it from being fantastic was a lack of any special cinematography. Other then that its an enjoyable short film that uses the format to the best of its abilities.

twisted comedy

One thing I like in particular about Ralph Sepe's YouTube videos is his often extremely dark sense of humor, which seemed to unfortunately have been integrated into his actual short film work very little if at all, which is why I was pretty pleased with this very humorous semi horror short. The premise is so simple and is depicted in a totally straightforward fashion. To some extent, this is the classic fun short film. It is easy to digest (no pun intended), the concept is delivered in a visually creative but still completely to the point matter of fact manner, and there is a combo of comedy and horror that amateur cinema seems to relish, with good reason. Lots of enjoyment can be found here, and it shows even further potential for the future films of Ralph Sepe.

No ketchup
bradleylim-9634822 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Ketchup is a condiment. Traditionally, recipes used egg whites, mushrooms, oysters, mussels, or walnuts, among other ingredients, but in modern times the unmodified term usually refers to tomato ketchup.

Ketchup is a sweet and tangy sauce, typically made from tomatoes, sweetener, and vinegar, with assorted seasonings and spices. The latter vary by recipe, but commonly include onions, allspice, coriander, cloves, cumin, garlic, mustard and sometimes celery, cinnamon or ginger.

The market leader in the United States (82% market share) and United Kingdom (60%) is Heinz. In much of the UK, ketchup is also known as "tomato sauce" (although this means a fresher pasta sauce elsewhere in the world) or (especially in Wales) "red sauce".

Tomato ketchup is often used as a condiment to various dishes that are usually served hot: French fries, hamburgers, hot sandwiches, hot dogs, meat pies, cooked eggs, and grilled or fried meat. Ketchup is sometimes used as the basis for, or an ingredient in, other sauces and dressings, and it is also used as an additive flavoring for snacks like potato chips.

Mafia and spaghetti

Warning: Spoilers
"Sauce" is an American 4-minute live action short film from 2017 and this one got released about 1.5 months ago on Youtube where it turned into a success already. It's the newest work by young filmmaker Ralph Sepe Jr. who directed and is one of the writers too. Co-writer and lead actor is Zane Shaw, a young prolific filmmaker himself. So we have a young man and woman going on a date and the man is really nervous, but the girl tries to be gentle and calm him down. She obviously has no idea what is waiting for her next. It sure is not what it seems. The moment of revelation is not too bad admittedly, but everything before and after that still felt too long for its own good, even at not even 250 seconds. There is some kind of amateurish atmosphere to the entire film project that isn't either. The general idea wasn't too bad, but the material overall was just too weak. Could have worked better at 2 minutes perhaps. Don't watch.
