This episode has to be the best of the entire series in my opinion. It was so emotional it made me shed some tears.

Everything about this episode was spectacular. Heart-warming, honest, and engrossing story-telling, great direction and editing, great acting, amazing dialogue. It just had everything. This is one of the absolute best TV episodes of all time. This one deserves an award.

And behold fire in a firefighter serie.
I was afraid it would be a cheeky episode, but it was a nice origin story with nice emotions and good talks between the crew.
As a firefighter I understand a lot of the talks in this episode. Yeah it is dramatized and over the top on the incidents, but the talks are well thought of and make sense.
The hard way of dealing with the proby with the captain...it seems like a rerun from Hen. Leadership like that wouldn't be tolerated that long (or maybe I just used to other kind of leadership😉). But it gives a nice layer in the way the backstory is created.
And yes, fire (which I miss on the series)

Kenneth Choi's Emmy Nominee episode (or should be)
kerrybbush26 March 2019
This episode highlights the range of Kenneth Choi's skills as an actor. I'm not a regular viewer of this show, but I'll watch it if nothing else is on. It was refreshing to see an entire episode about his character & back story.
Kenneth Choi was the best part of this episode and I'm excited to see more of his work in the future.
The second best part of the episode was Lou Ferrigno Jr. ;)
Should of been longer

Why not go straight to the essentials?

Just as things were getting interesting, they decide to bore us with another useless character centric episode. True it wasn't as whiny and filled with self indulgent bs, like that Hen episode was. But still, that's not why I've decided to keep watching. The thing with this show, is that it takes itself so seriously sometimes, it's very off putting. Which lacks honesty too. Obvious bait and switch...
