Working for MetArt and New Sensations, Alis Locanta was able to escape my radar, as the recent product from those labels is mindless crap. But graduating to the prestigious Marc Dorcel outfit seems to have worked wonders for him, as this all-girl feature is extremely well-made and performed.
It has the glamour and beauty of a Dorcel release, and with dialog suppressed fits in well with the French maestro's approach of late. The story is kept simple (and universal) as busty businesswoman Eva Black (well-cast in the form of mature beauty Dorothy Black) looks for new assistants, sampling each girl applicants wares thoroughly for the benefit of us voyeurs in Video Land.
Ritual seems to be catching on of late in porn, as witness the highly stylized (and limited) Mormongirlz features. Each of four femmes coming to work for Madam Eva (that's the U.S. spelling, as the French go with Madame Eva) must don a different but quite spare white outfit, and submit to her will. The theme, as with so many home-grown Dorcel movies by the likes of directors like Herve Bodilis, is domination and submission, but Mr. Locanta makes it very pleasant indeed, not the BDSM stuff one expects.
I was especially impressed with Red Fox, likely named with nary a memory of the late great comedian but more literally describing a beautiful young redhead. Cassie Del Isla, impressive in Lisette Bailey's brilliant "Military Misconduct" is also impressive here, and all the Sapphic lovemaking is executed with a touch of class.
