The best ending for the direction the plot had.

Warning: Spoilers
That finale is not a bad finale... But why will you feel bad after watching it? This finale end in the best way the storyline starting since the first episode: the storyline about "return to the origin", to the Old Earth, a finale that you (better. Me) await for the entire season, an ending that you start to foretaste since the 10th episode (at least for me). But this episode can't be better than this, and not for the episode's fault, but for the construction of the Anime: Since the beginning the author want to create a character that it's only reason to exist was to be the best in the serie, they succeed, without Zero Two that anime isn't the same. But if you create a character made for be the most popular, the story must take a different path. This end make you (me) feel bad because you (me) understand how Zero Two/Hiro storyline is more important that the anime plot itself! This episode isn't bad, is a very good episode, an happy ending, but not the happy ending i (and think a lot of people) hoped. Isn't bad the death of that two characters (even if they re-incarnate) but the fact that their death was maden by an enemy that appear for the last 4 episodes; the fact that for all the series it wasn't a single time when everyone was happy and simply live, it wasn't. If an ending that you await for more than a half of a series don't make you happy, is because you don't perceive the good thing happening, because the character you love, the character create for be "Iconical" don't have the good ending you wanted to see. This is fault of the storyteller: if you create a character made for be loved, you can't proceed like the beginning since everyone start to want a good ending for that characters and only later, the good ending for all other characters. So this episode is hard to rating, personally i don't like it, i'm feel bad after watching it, if my rating was only for my emotion, i would rate 3 or 2, but that episode don't deserve it that rating. But isn't a good episode only because the story itself end in a bad way: the plot twist of the enemy from the space in my opinion was the point when the series start to downgrade, and this episode, even if do it flawlessy, can't do something impossible: adjust a bad plot twist.
