Zoey Deutch looks as classy as ever in a new Vogue photoshoot.
The American actress was chosen to be the face of Vogue Thailand for their September cover and she looks absolutely stunning.
She shared some of the pictures of this photoshoot and reminded her fans of what an icon she is.
Posing in a black strapless leather dress and slicked-back hair, Deutch delivers a very classy look. Complementing the dress is her natural and radiant makeup with a fine set of gold earrings.
In another shot, she’s seen wearing a different black dress, this time it’s one with long sleeves and a big black flower right below her chest. She poses in the same green background as last time and gives a side view of her hairstyle, which is a slick, tight bun.
In the next pictures, Zoey gets super glammed up...

For Zoey Deutch, it’s all about the details.
The actor-turned-producer returns to the screen Friday in Quinn Shephard’s dark comedy Not Okay, and she plays Danni Sanders, a depressed young woman who Photoshops her way to Paris to impress an influencer (Dylan O’Brien). However, Danni’s plans quickly go awry when a terrorist attack coincides with her whereabouts, and instead of telling the truth, she opts to pose as a trauma survivor, achieving the overnight fame and attention she thought she always wanted.
As an executive producer on the Searchlight Pictures project for Hulu, Deutch welcomed the added responsibility.
“When I did Buffaloed and Not Okay, I was at the center of these movies, so I wanted to know everything that was going on because every little thing matters. So I’d rather have a seat at the table than beg for one,...

[Editor’s note: The following story contains light spoilers for “Not Okay.”]
Though filmmaker Quinn Shephard starred in her 2017 feature directorial debut “Blame,” Shephard opted to stay behind the camera for her sophomore outing, the internet satire “Not Okay.” And she couldn’t have asked for a better proxy than star Zoey Deutch, a fearless performer with a bubbly presence that belies the complexity of the characters she often plays. The “Set It Up” star was immediately impressed with Shephard’s script, which offered her a new twist on the kind of “fascinating character” she loves to play.
“Quinn is a very gifted writer. I was struck by how brave [her screenplay] was and how impressively tight it was. There were no loose ends. You read a script like that and it’s really hard to not want to play a part like that. Danni Sanders is a fascinating character,” Deutch said in a recent interview with IndieWire. “I was really excited that Quinn...

Tanya Wexler, director of the brilliant indie crime caper Buffaloed, returns for yet another film about a strong, feisty woman – in this case Lindy (Kate Beckinsale) a former bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After Justin, the first guy she’s ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their chief suspect.

“Jolt,” a Kate Beckinsale-fronted actioner helmed by “Buffaloed” director Tanya Wexler, is a film that knows what it is and owns its sense of innate disposability. There is always plenty of fun to be had with a rock-solid piece of disposable mainstream entertainment, and while it’s also undeniably fun to see Beckinsale, normally cast in more purportedly “respectable” roles, kicking all sorts of ass in her very own “John Wick,” it’s also not hard to wish that “Jolt” itself didn’t crackle with more lived-in electricity of its own.

Photo: ‘Jolt’/Amazon Studios Very few films can claim to have either reinvented or reinvigorated their very own genre. ‘The Blair Witch Project’ (1999) unleashed a torrid stream of look-alike low-budget found-footage horror, ‘Jaws’ (1975) perfected the summer blockbuster to a science, and ‘John Wick’ (2014) reimagined the brutal revenge thriller for an entirely new generation. While that film (as well as its sequels) have maintained a refreshing authenticity and striking individuality throughout, the innumerable rip-offs and wannabes that they inspired have steadily run short of both. "What is it about gross old men always underestimating women?" Amazon has unveiled an official trailer for an energetic action comedy called Jolt, the latest from filmmaker Tanya Wexler. This is dropping on Prime Video in July right in the middle of the summer, and looks like a wild ride. Jolt is apparently a bit of a female-twist on Crank, with Kate Beckinsale in the lead role as a bouncer. She stars as Lindy, a woman with a slightly-murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After the first guy she's ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their suspect. The excellent cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox, David Bradley, Ori Pfeffer, with Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci.

Welcome to September, ladies and gentlemen. With the summer coming to and end, the fall almost upon us, and the Covid-19 pandemic still very much impacting the industry, much is still up in the air. Such is life with the coronavirus holding up much of the film industry. As fitting this weird year, not much has changed since July when I looked at the best of the first half of the year. Mostly, this just means the best is (hopefully) still to come here. We shall see, but just keep in mind that the midpoint of 2020 has been somewhat of a holding pattern, for obvious reasons. Let’s get right down to it. Below you’ll find my top ten of the year so far, along with my awards for the first two thirds of 2020. Here you go folks, and enjoy: 10. Crshd 9. The Outpost 8. Buffaloed 7. Da 5 Bloods 6. The Invisible Man...

Well, we’re halfway through one of the strangest movie years we’ve ever had. For someone who sees more than 300 films a year, not having been in a theater since early March is insane. Still, as you all know, I’ve still been seeing plenty of things, so my film count is over 180 overall for 2020. That being said, for most, that’s not the case, and that’s a shame. Still, with it being July 1st, it’s time to look back on the first half of the year, honoring the best movies and performances that I’ve seen. This year, I’m being very open-minded (minus two specific titles), so if I’ve seen it, it’s potentially on the list. Basically, there’s a few festival titles or July releases that I normally would have held back on, but I figured…why not? Let’s get right down to it.

Tanya Wexler’s new film “Buffaloed” is “Wolf of Wall Street” but with a feminist twist, with Zoey Deutch scamming her way to the top. Peg Dahl (Deutch) is a self-proclaimed “aggressive little s—” who is obsessed with making enough cash to escape her blue-collar existence. With an unquenchable thirst for power, Peg finds her calling in the underground world of debt-collecting #DollarSignEmoji.
WrapWomen recently caught up with director Tanya Wexler who took us behind the scenes of the film (now available on DVD and VOD), revealed what she learned from Deutch and gave advice to aspiring female directors.
What about “Buffaloed” made you realize, “I need to be a part of this!”
I found out that Zoey Deutch was attached and I was a huge fan, and then I read the script and it was hilarious. I couldn’t imagine a better marriage of an actress to a role.

The unstoppable Netflix juggernaut simply cannot be stopped, tossing up new pieces of entertainment every day. This has been a boon for older, more obscure films as their inclusion in the Just Added list has put them back in the spotlight. Unfortunately, there’s just one new movie being added today, but it’s an underrated title worth checking out.
I’m talking about Before I Fall, a teen drama with a twist from 2017. On the surface, it’s a low-key story about a girl going through typical adolescent stuff. There’s crushes, interpersonal conflict, some bullying and characters worrying about losing their virginity. So far, so boilerplate John Hughes. But then *smash* there’s a fatal car crash.
Our heroine wakes up without a scratch on her though and without a dent in the fender. That’s right campers, it’s a time loop movie, as protagonist Samantha Kingston...

There are a lot of popular streaming platforms to choose from, but Hulu has always stood alongside Netflix as one of the two essentials for households looking for diversity in content. In the past, they’ve been known for focusing more heavily on newer television content, while Netflix has always offered a larger selection of sought-after films. But now, it looks like Hulu’s June lineup is only going to continue the service’s recent trend of providing high quality movies to bring itself in line with their competitor.
First up, you can get wholesome with Mr. Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, which tells the story of an investigative journalist who learns some hard life lessons from one of television’s most beloved personalities. You can then supplement that wholesomeness with My Girl and My Girl 2 for some wonderful 90s nostalgia.

June 2020 is set to be a big month for the whole streaming Disney family. Not only will ESPN+ have the entirety of The Last Dance on its servers for late-adopting sports fans to catch up with, but Disney+ will be premiering its long-awaited Artemis Fowl film. Over on its biggest streaming service in Hulu, however, Disney is taking things a bit more slowly.
This month finds only three major original releases for Hulu. Animated medieval comedy Crossing Swords premieres on June 12, then Ya love story Love Victor and cooking show Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi both arrive on June 19. All in all, that’s not a bad haul for originals for the typically slow summer months.
June 1 sees a pretty impressive crop of movies coming to Hulu’s library as well. October Sky, The X-Files (1998), and Casino will all be ready to stream at the beginning of the month.

Exclusive: Judy Greer has joined the cast of Universal Pictures’ Flint Strong, in what we hear is a key role.
Rachel Morrison, who made history as the first female Dp to be nominated for an Oscar on Mudbound and was also the cinematographer on the $1.3 billion grossing three-time Oscar winner Black Panther, is making her feature directorial debut on Flint Strong. Oscar winner Barry Jenkins wrote the script adapted from the 2015 boxing documentary T-rex made by Zackary Canepari and Drea Cooper.
The documentary T-rex follows 17-year-old Claressa “T-rex” Shields, a Flint Michigan native whose dreams of becoming the first woman in history to win an Olympic gold medal in Boxing are realized at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Universal acquired Shields’ life rights and rights to the documentary in 2016. A third of the way through the year, it’s safe to say that 2020 is unlike any we’ve ever faced. Cinemas are shut, large scale wide releases are on pause, and the only things being put out are independent titles, through Video On Demand services. Still, there are a great deal of quality films have that come out, along with several award worthy performances. Today, much like we did last month, we’re going to focus on these movies and acting turns, as a way of keeping a positive frame of mind. To be fair, a lot of these flicks and acting jobs will be repeats, but we’re just in a sort of holding pattern right now. Still, superior cinema is superior cinema… Let’s get right down to it. Below you’ll find my top ten of the year so far, along with my awards for the...

In some ways, it feels very silly to do this annual look at the best of the first quarter of the cinematic year. After all, the world has changed and the film world especially has come to a screeching halt. At the same time , a sense of normalcy however possible is always good. So, I’m pressing on and listing my favorite titles and work from the first three months of 2020. Obviously, a lot of high profile flicks were delayed, so whether I saw them or not, I’m not including them here. Still, including things I saw late in 2019 but hit this year, I had over 90 options to pull from. So, hopefully this is a Farley exhaustive list, even if it’s very much skewed by my personal taste. Let’s get right down to it. Below you’ll find my top ten of the year so far, along...

"One of the interesting gifts of learning the producorial side is it's just made me a better performer," says Zoey Deutch, the popular young actress-producer, on the latest episode of The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast. Deutch, 25, is best known as one-half of the young couple at the center of Claire Scanlon's 2018 Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up, which helped to revive the genre and make her the face of the 'Netflix and chill' era; the other is Glen Powell, with whom she will reunite in another Katie Silberman-scripted rom-com, The Most Dangerous Game, in 2021. We all have our cultural blind spots. Some of us have never seen “Citizen Kane,” while others just learned who Lil Nas X is. And some of us do not understand the comedic minutiae of life in Buffalo, New York. Buffalo native Brian Sacca is not a member of the latter group, something he makes immediately and abundantly apparent on every page of his first feature-length screenplay, “Buffaloed.” The result, directed by Tanya Wexler, is amusing.

Acting wunderkind Zoey Deutch returns to the podcast on the occasion of the release of Buffaloed, the raucous indie she stars in (and produced) where she gets to flex her high octane comedy chops. We get into the weeds discussing comedy performance, she talks about striving to make her characters relatable, and about her love for auditioning (despite the hiccups). I delicately ask her what makes up the bulk of her now legendary script binder and she graciously explains. Plus much much more! Zoey Deutch in Buffaloed
Films that open on Valentine’s Day are usually all about romance, insecurity, silly misunderstandings and blissful reunions – not industrial wastelands, debt collectors and fast-talking scammers – but there’s nothing about Tanya Wexler’s Buffaloed that suggests a willingness to compromise in order to be liked. Starring Zoey Deutch as a small time ex-con with big ambitions and a whole lot of attitude, it’s a freewheeling comedy which tickles the bits other V-Day films can’t reach. Taking time out on the day of release, Tanya told me how she fell in love with the writing as soon as she read it.

“The script was just hilarious – I mean, so much fun. But I have to say, it was probably the combination of the screenplay and Zoey together, kind of that perfect star for the perfect role. it was pretty irresistible!

The opening scene of Zoey Deutch's new film, Buffaloed, features the 25-year-old star sprinting to an unspecified location, screaming, and brandishing a gun as she says in a voiceover, "My unathletic ass just ran halfway across Buffalo because an assh*le in that building f*cked with my money. Do not f*ck with my money!" That's all it takes for the movie to grab your attention, and it doesn't let go for the rest of the hour and a half.

Buffaloed (Tanya Wexler)
Set in the rough and tumble world of South Buffalo–the streets that raised tough guys like the crude former New York State gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino–Buffaloed is a surprisingly fun comedy about the rise and fall of an up-and-coming hustler, gleefully played with a thick (and accurate) Western New York accent by Zoey Deutch. Deutch’s Peg Dahl aspires to not be another house-wife raising her kids on five-cent wings and starts running minor cons in high school until selling bootleg Buffalo Bills tickets lands her in prison. – John F. “Haven’t you ever dreamed of something more?” That’s the question our down-and-out protagonist asks in “Buffaloed,” but it also comes to mind as we wait for Tanya Wexler’s uneven comedy to fulfill its potential.
Young Peg Dahl (Zoey Deutch) should be among Buffalo’s most promising citizens; she begins the film as a brilliant student with a laser focus and Wall Street goals. But the system is solidly stacked against her, and she can’t afford to go to college. She has to find another route to success, and her chosen approach — selling counterfeit Bills tickets — instead lands her in jail.
Facing few other options on release, she takes a job with the city’s sleaziest con-man, Wizz (Jai Courtney). Wizz runs a brazenly loathsome debt-collection agency, and Peg soon becomes his top collector. In fact, it’s so easy to shake down firefighters and new mothers...

Debt collection is an industry similar to used car sales. We all know it’s necessary, but there’s something inherently icky about them. Used car salespeople are known for being slick, crude salespeople that will do anything to get you in a car, no matter if it’s a good deal or not. Debt collectors are also crude businesspeople, but instead of offering goods for money, they only aim to take your money and are generally a bit cold about it (as they have to be).

Less than a decade into her professional acting career, Zoey Deutch long ago reached the “can do anything” stage of her trajectory. A skilled comedian who infuses her characters with pathos and likability, Deutch’s roles have spanned genres, tones, and reach. She’s done the sad-eyed Ya thing (“Before I Fall”) and the cute rom-com thing (“Set It Up”), the studio sequel thing (“Zombieland: Double Tap”) and the Richard Linklater hangout movie thing (“Everybody Wants Some!!”), even making time for the Netflix series thing (“The Politician”). The actress’ fizzy, frenetic charm is strong enough to bolster the thinnest of concepts, and every role she takes on is better for her contributions. But she can’t save everything.

Almost a year ago, I saw Buffaloed at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and was absolutely blown away. Not only is it a wonderfully smart and razor sharp satirical dramedy, it features the best turn to date by Zoey Deutch, who is quickly becoming among the most exciting actresses in the business. With the movie finally coming out this Friday, it’s a perfect excuse to unveil the first installment for 2020 of the Spotlight on the Stars series, since Deutch is well on her way to being one of the biggest in the industry. Mark my words, ladies and gentlemen, she’s shooting straight to the top of the A-list. The film itself is the year’s best title, without question. The synopsis, courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes, is as follows: “Peg Dahl (Zoey Deutch) has never run with the Buffalo pack. As a young girl obsessed with making enough cash to...

With a whole new year about to be upon us, and as such, there’s a ton of new films to anticipate. Fun times, right? Today will be a day to look forward, which is a little different than most are doing here in the final days of December, when looking back is all the rage. Indeed, there’s a whole slate of titles emerging in the weeks and months to come, so that’s what we’ll be focusing on. Even just in the coming days, we’ll see 2020 releases begin to overtake the current 2019 expansions. There will be some rather rough times as studios dump their lesser projects, but look to the independent flicks for saving graces until the bigger films begin to come out,...

Buffaloed came out earlier in the year for those that might think it’s a new movie so it’s easy enough to look it up, rent it, buy it, and possibly enjoy what you see. The movie itself looks pretty funny as Zoey Deutch plays the part of a hustler that is willing to do or sell anything to get out of Buffalo, New York. What she ends up doing though is going to jail for one of her schemes and upon getting out becomes a debt collector that rakes it in before opening her own business and going to war
