Excellent documentary
Woodyanders1 October 2019
This 53-minute documentary centers on the band the Lost Bayou Ramblers, who are keeping Cajun music alive and kicking in the 21st century. This doc follows the band on tour as well as shows them hard at work recording their album "Kalenda" which went on to win a well-deserved Grammy. The level of passion and dedication the band display in their mission to preserve authentic Cajun music that's sung in French is both inspiring and admirable in equal measure. Moreover, the painstaking effort they put into recording "Kalenda" proves that this group means business. In addition, director Bruno Doria offers a vivid evocation of Louisiana and the people who populate that particular state who make the area's culture so unique and flavorsome. Tremendously enlivened by the band's infectiously vibrant and joyous music, this doc has a real kick to it.
