There are a bunch of nice, that is scary adaptations of this topic.
The 1932 version scares me whenever I watch it.
This one here bores me to the bone, since it is nothing but an almost uninterrupted display of visual effects.
The plot seems almost irrelevant, everything is just showing off of (then) advanced rendering. Though, whenever I go to the movies, I want something to actually watch, a plot, actors, theme. But not a sales show of some visual engine manufacturers.
Brendan Frazer and Rachel Welcz make a nice and believable pair in this movie, but to what avail? If they - instead of acting - are just thrown around as backdrop for effects.
Horrible horror movie. Spending one's time elsewhere is highly recommended.
