Justified: City Primeval: The Oklahoma Wildman (2023)
Slightly better than the first episode, but still very weak
This episode feels more like something complete and evokes associations with the original Justified. At least there is some kind of detective story. But every time you start to immerse yourself in the plot, you see what incompetent characters and how badly selected casts, and this, first of all, does not allow you to enjoy the series.
First of all, in this particular episode, you can see how badly Timothy Oliphant's daughter plays, it's clear that this is her first role, but she looks extremely unconvincing.
Secondly, I already mentioned this, of course, that Boyd Holbrook is an obvious miscast for the role of the main antagonist. Yes, we get it, he's a musician and that's part of his originality as a character? Music references? Seriously?
In short, better than the beginning, but still very, very weak and can not be compared with the original series. Why such a high rating? I have no idea, because anyone who has seen the original Justified will notice all the problems that I see.
Justified: City Primeval: City Primeval (2023)
Boyd Holbrook is not Boyd Crowder
Let's start with the main and most obvious problem that catches the eye from the very beginning. The antagonist is very, very weak, I am more than sure that the depth of this character is unlikely to be added, and the actor is simply much weaker than Walton Goggins.
This leads to the second problem, the supporting cast, which in the original Justified was always more than at a high level, here everything looks extremely boring and lifeless.
And as for the first episode, there's a lot of really weird humor that doesn't really fit in. There were a lot of jokes in the original Justified too, but they were organic and harmonized perfectly with the characters who say them. Here, such jokes cause a feeling of cringe.
Let's see what happens next, but I doubt that anything can change.
Hannibal: The Wrath of the Lamb (2015)
No kidding, it's just awful
To begin with, the best decision on the part of Bryan Fuller is to end everything already in the second season. The third season is something that is simply unbearable, incomplete and just terrible in all aspects of what the series was good before. Every character and their development was just flushed down the toilet, everything we were led to in the second season and the finale of the second season went there as well.
The worst thing about this season is its first half. Richard Armitage is the worst cast a Red Dragon can have. I can list and list the shortcomings, and all due to the fact that the whole season is one continuous shortcoming.
Do yourself a favor and just stop watching the show on season 2, that's the best ending the show could get, whether Bryan Fuller intended it or not. It's scary to imagine that he even wanted to do 7 seasons.
Crime (2021)
Missed Opportunities
The series developed very dynamically. I really liked the fact that the characters I met in Filth, I can get to know and feel better. But unfortunately, by the end of the season, instead of building up all this potential and dynamics, the series becomes very sluggish and ceases to amaze. And even more, it starts to become very secondary. A lot of wasted potential, with a very well-chosen cast and humor.
As far as I know, the show has been renewed for a second season. I don't know what the point of this is, but the series will either correct the mistakes and become better, or completely bury itself. And I think that the second option is much more likely.
Emily in Paris (2020)
Nothing more than a fair rating
For how "truthfully" the Ukrainians were portrayed :)
It makes no sense even to explain why the series is bad, it seems to me that everyone knows this. Moreover, it is even known to be mediocre in all respects creators who have to bribe critics.
The Sinner: Part VIII (2021)
The end, now for sure
I will not discuss the ending or the series, because it is one hundred percent self-sufficient ending. This is the ending that any person who has watched the series from the very beginning will accept and appreciate. A person who knows the concept and who does not expect, for some strange reason, to get a maniac, a cult or something else at the end that would never have been in the series. But as you can see from most episodes and their reviews, for some reason there are a lot of such people, who expected such things and this always confuses me. You watch the show from the very beginning, you know that the show is built on people, their decisions, motives, wrong or right actions. God, the show is called Sinner, but anyway, I stepped back a little.
I'm sorry that this series ends, I really liked the concept, I really liked the character of Bill Pulman and the way he played. Now there is just an amazingly huge number of faded and unremarkable detectives, and against their background, the Sinner has always been something fresh, interesting and which, with each new season, brought something new. But the story had to end sooner or later, and I'm glad the story ended like that. I will miss the show and will rewatch all the seasons more than once in my life.
The Sinner: Part VII (2021)
The final is very soon
It's just a good episode, the purpose of which is to bring us closer and closer to the finale, it seems to me that all the characters are showing their true motives more and more and it's easier to understand what happened in reality.
The Sinner: Part VI (2021)
Dynamic was right move
This can rightfully be considered the most dynamic and intense episode of the entire series! I really liked the fact that this episode was essentially divided into two characters, one of which was Meg Muldoon, which added variety and made it possible to further reveal the character. And, in perspective, understand the motivation behind the actions of her persona.
The Sinner: Part V (2021)
Excellent development of events
I strongly disagree with the negative comments under this episode! The series develops in the same plane as any other season, even the third, which is not loved by many, the events and what is happening around. These are down-to-earth stories. Without wide scale about people, their characters and motives, so when you get frustrated with how the "cult" line is developing, it only shows how far removed from you the concept of the show itself.
The Sinner: Part IV (2021)
Involvement
Harry's involvement and obsession with this cse is gaining momentum with each new episode. It's very interesting to see what happens next and where this investigation will lead.
The Sinner: Part III (2021)
Personality depth
Each time we learn something new about the main character of a new story, we have the opportunity to learn something new about Harry! It seems to me that Bill Pulman is very good at playing a hero with psychological problems, who sees his reflection in other people and their problems! And he tries to help them with this, thereby trying to help himself.
The Sinner: Part II (2021)
Things are starting to pick up steam
In this series, characters and their characters, their motives, their psychology always take a special place! An excellent episode, where the accents are correctly placed and the story and suspense begin to gain momentum.
The Sinner: Part I (2021)
Great start to the season
I really love the way this season started! Yes, from the very beginning it is perfectly clear that this time the creators decided to shift the concept a little towards the standard detective story! And I think it was a great decision considering how the show started.
