Missing something ....
21 February 2024
Watching the first episode, it didn't feel like the first one it was like I was missing an episode. I don't understand where and when they became obsessed with each other they just seemed miserable, it was an average meet up with not much chemistry then all of a sudden he's pining over her and they are back and forth over and over, but why ? I'm still halfway through the series but does it get better? Was hoping for a better series to be honest especially with the actors involved. It doesn't feel like years are passing by either, both of them look no different during the time jumps lol should be better.

Worth watching for the Paris scenes alone
9 April 2023
My review is all in the title.

A great action movie fantastic stunts and fight choreography. God knows how they put it all together fantastic effort all around. The fight scene in the art gallery room is brilliant. The high above camera shot looking down at the flame thrower gun shootout is so cool, the camera stays fully focused on the action as it sweeps from room to room.

The 'steps' scene is brilliant and hilarious. Bravo to the stuntmen involved. The best scene for me was the Arc de Triomphe how they put that together is nothing short of a miracle. The shoot out and fighting in-between the weaving traffic is so well done hats off the Keanu and the stuntmen again.

Great performances in an easy watch
16 March 2023
Yes this film is high concept and could have done with some of the plot fleshing out a bit, however it's well made I think the effects are pretty decent.

Great cinematography, sound and score.

Adam throws his all into it physically and the young actresses are also great and really watchable.

I enjoyed the real locations of the film and it not just being another green screen set movie. You really felt like they were both out in the wilderness especially the swamp scene.

Would recommend as an easy popcorn movie don't take it too seriously, I think it will be a bigger hit on streaming.

Also Adam looks fantastic for the entire run.

A poorly made film
10 July 2022
Well this film was very hard to get through everything was wrong with it. The chemistry was none existent, the script was bad, characters just said and did strange things that made no sense. (Main girl has a weird meltdown on a flight and questions what's going on, it's just turbulence but she acts completely bonkers like she had no clue what it could be and asks if the plane is hitting things ?????) So many strange moments and acting choices. It's made so on the cheap and editing is all over the place really do not understand what was going on during filming it looks like something made by school kids. There is also another moment where the main characters roommate is very obviously having sex in her own room but she just decides to walk in on it because she's so confused by the noises ?????? ! Then next minute she seems quite smart and has a decent job this character could not be a real person ! Either it was badly adapted or the actress was the wrong choice.

It really does look like a TV movie The author of the book deserves better adaptations.

Watchable and sweet
10 July 2022
I thought it was a nice light movie, the actors had chemistry I felt interested in the story and what was going to happen. I'm surprised by the average reviews it's certainly one of the better movies on Netflix.

It just needed a bit more plot involving the supporting characters.

I loved Girls
22 April 2022
I might be in the minority but I loved the show from start to finish, albeit better in first couple of seasons. I always felt like people took it too seriously. There are some great comedic moments and yes most of the best moments were Adam Driver scenes or Andrew Rannells. Don't really understand why people would be so bothered about characters being naked, especially when a lot of them involved Adam 😉 had it been a show about a bunch of stereotypical "hot" guys I bet no one would be complaining about the naked characters.

Yes its bad
22 April 2022
A real shame considering the talent behind and infront of the camera. The film should just have been a few actors, there were too many and none of them stood out or were particularly funny. I love Fred Armisen and Pedro pascal those two were the only ones that had a few decent moments.

A really beautiful moving film
11 March 2022
I can't recommend this film enough Beautiful, funny with some actual depth this is what you call a 'life enriching' film. Brilliant performances from the whole cast. The lead actress has a lovely singing voice.

Andy Samberg is a treat
11 April 2021
Anything Andy does is great. Any opportunity I have to watch his adorable face I will take it. Its a fun movie with the Lonely Island twist People complaining about it i mean we can't just never have another time loop movie ever again because there is already 'one'. This film isn't anything like Groundhog day anyway.

Watch this movie for his scenes and his suits

Good start but seems to lose its pace with a bit of a bad ending

Its fine well made just a bit boring
15 February 2021
I found it quite hard to connect to this show. Something about the writing or the characters im not sure. Maybe it was a bit too americanised. It looks like its had all the money in the world thrown at it but yet still somehow looks cheap. Jonathan Bailey is always good in stuff he's in, he's definitely the best thing in this

Why would you watch this
5 February 2021
The trailer for this film looked beyond cheap and terrible. The adverts are on the radio all the time and even that sounded awful and that's just audio. Tiny snippets of the acting looked terrible more like a parody film. Why would you do a film and base it around parkour which was like a trend 15 years ago. Try and imitate Kingsman style directing with a budget that looks like something for kids to make at school and mix in terrible actors for a serious film...except for Michael. Good god Rita Ora needs to go away she barely even has any musical talent let alone anything else

Easy watch better than it looked on the trailer
29 January 2021
First off yes its Justin being serious which is definitely not his strong suit, his movies are usually hit and miss. There were some cliche moments but I thought this movie was actually OK. I thought from the trailer it looked a bit dull, cliche and Justin trying to be dramatic and it was going to be a cheap TV movie like film. But it had a good look to it, great acting and the kid in the film is the star for sure. Worth a watch just for him, a natural. The story is a little too slow and takes too long for anything to really grab you or make you feel emotional. I think its obvious that an actor with better dramatic acting chops would probably have been able to do more with it or perhaps they should have tailored the film to fit Justins strengths. The character didn't even really have any issues himself to overcome other than his old fashioned masculinity ideals. The character needed more of a struggle the kid needed to help him in return, revitalise this guy who had just come out of prison and trying to adjust to modern life. There was just something missing in the film but great actors involved and Justin tries his best.

Really good comedy thriller
24 January 2021
The first episode will have you hooked. It kinda has that 'killing eve' vibe to it. Stylishly filmed, face paced and entertaining. All the actors are really good and make it really watchable. Its definitely over the top and unrealistic but great fun. Kaley is brilliant here nice to see her in something other than Big Bang Theory

Had you intrigued
21 September 2020
I've enjoyed the show but I kinda do agree with a lot of the reviews. The kids in this show were great actors and had more interesting stories. Once you get more background detail the story makes more sense for Reese and Kerrys characters but they are just not likeable enough for you to care for by episode 7. Never understood why the character of Mia hated everyone around her so much when she arrived in the town the face expressions constantly. Even when you learn more of her backstory I don't understand why she was so hateful of people and looked at them with this weird mouth curl all the time. Was it just because of wealth? She seemed like she had come a decent background herself. Some things didn't quite add up I'm guessing the characters in the book are more well rounded

Strange mix but its ok
4 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After watching 'Safe' on Netflix I wasn't sure about giving this one a go. That show was an odd mix kinda entertaining but strange characters and acting quality. I had heard The Stranger was good so thought I would give it a go. But again it's an odd mix of tones. Strange humour, weird characters, acting that seems so out of place. Its more like Hollyoaks after dark. One of the son's friends was one of the most out of place characters with the cringiest dialogue I have ever watched in a show. I have no clue what was going on there whether he is just a terrible actor or badly directed. Like with 'Safe' the family involved with the death of the boy they were such out of place characters with cringy action and script. The Stranger plot lines based on decapitating an alpaca and fake pregnancies??? Really bad editing aswell, Jennifer Saunders in it for like 2 minutes but was advertised like she was a lead. What on earth is going on with the writers of this guys books why is he allowing such bad adaptations haha
