I wanted to like this, but the film ended up as Netflix's pandering to those that grew up with 90s romcoms. Sure, it played the formula (pretty/unconventional girl meets handsome guy in a "funny" situation and so on), but the leads lacked in chemistry. Jokes were flat thus missing out completely on the "com" part of romcom, especially since comedic timing felt stilted and unnatural. Situational comedy was used but it was half-hearted and didn't make any of the characters endearing. The film ended on a predictable note (which is to be expected) but it could have at least been built up better.
