Michelle Pfeiffer shines as Betty Ford, brilliantly capturing her essence without resorting to the distracting mimicry that mars Viola Davis' portrayal of Michelle Obama. It's deeply disappointing that an actress as accomplished as Viola Davis didn't realize that a misguided attempt to duplicate someone else's facial features could only yield a cringey and painful-to-watch performance, remembered only by the totally unnecessary duck lips that she exhibits throughout the show. It's an insult to Mrs. Obama, her beauty and her legacy.
