The photography is marvellous, with rich visuals and alluring production desing. The story has a clever premise, translating the French revolution into a compelling vampire story. Buuut...the script crawls slowly and seems to be terrified of any kind of plot advancement, waisting precious screening time. All this rarely results in interesting character development (but when it finally does it's quite good). The final result is boring. No show based on the Great Revolution should be allowed to be this boring.
