Dull, just like the book - Eric Bana couldn't save it

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't like this book either. I really enjoyed the dry and I was so looking forward to seeing Eric Bana play Aaron Falk again but even he couldn't save the movie for me.

The story of Aaron's mother is never put into context with his family story from part 1, which mentioned nothing about his mother.

The ending with the gratification of sending Daniel to jail doesn't quite land because it is left for later. A detective feeling smug doesn't quite finish it for me.

The serial killer victims' closure also never lands.

I'm glad I only spent $6.99 to watch this movie after renting it on Prime. The book clearly seemed like it was a play to make a screenplay and now even that didn't land for me.

Seeing some of the Aussie scenery and listening to the Aussie accent was good for my homesickness. It's not really believable that they would send office workers without property tracking and SOS equipment in this day and age in such dense forest terrain.

This movie is a hard pass for me.
