Awesome and Entertaining
anthembites4 June 2003
This show is some of the funniest stuff I've watched in a while. I only watched it because it was on in the time betweenn the Simpsons and Jackass when there is nothing on, I watched this and was amazed at how smart and clever yet silly and fun for losers to watch. Brian Posehn (Mr. Show) is the voice of Del, the softspoken eyeless but nose dominant dorm mate of Sanford (Brian Dunkleman; American Idol), a naive, ambitious Special Ed student. They both attend Barter College, a joke compared to other schools, with a lazy, underpaid faculty. Great one-liners and scenarios carry this show's humor ("Save the un-ee-corn"). If MTV doesn't bring this show back I will never watch thier crappy channel again even though I never watch it except for this and Jackass.

Easily the Funniest Cartoon on Television Today
zmez18 January 2003
#-South is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I don't get how anyone can hate it. The ironically funny stupid humor is brilliant. (Did that sentence make sense?) As funny as Beavis and Butthead, Family Guy, Clerks, The Critic, and even classic Simpsons. Of course, MTV will probably cancel it as they do with every other quality show they have. Make room for another Real World/Road Rules Challenge.

Bring it Back MTV
HBK056 June 2006
This show is one of the best shows to hit MTV, EVER. I had forgot all about this show when I was flipping through the channels yesterday and saw it was coming at 3 PM Eastern Time Zone on MTV2, and cheap plug, its going to be on all week at that time for a full hour. This show was just so hilarious between Del, Sanford, and Ed. Also Todd was great. MTV canceled this show for stupid stuff like Date My Mom, Room Raiders, some boring Real World and Road Rules crap that nobody watches, Next, Parental Control, you catch my drift? This show should defiantly get a DVD with the full first season and the three episodes that weren't never shown. Also maybe Adult Swim could pick it and air the three episodes that were never shown.

This show is hilarious. Deadpan humor

The art is bad and the characters are weird. I hate too stupid to be believable sitom characters. But damn this is a funny show. Brian Dunkleman as Sanford is my favorite. The ways they make the characters misunderstand this is so creative. Why did the USSR break up? Their drummer died?? Lol.

The talent here can not make up for the mediocre at best scripts.

I did watch every episode back in the day, in the hopes it would get better, it didn't.

It has this very dry sarcastic tone to it, and all these reviews saying it's the funniest thing ever (with similar wordings) do not reflect the shows comedy style at all.

I will say, the paper thin plots that go episode to episode very loosely do keep you interested, but the characters and style are very bland and boring. King Of The Hill was bland but comedic, this isn't.

Most of the comedy comes from having to have gone to American college yourself and it's very PG13.

Animation is simplistic but a step above Family Guy.

Not worth watching.

The Best Show You've Never Seen
m00ner_t2 January 2004
"3-South" is easily the funniest and least-known animated series of all-time. Never before have I laughed so hard while watching TV, and never before have I laughed so hard while just thinking about the moments from the show that really get to you.

The show takes place at a fictional college known around the nation as terrible (Barder College), following three freshmen: Stanford (Brian Dunkleman), Del (Brian Posehn), and the intelligent Joe (chose Barder as a safety school, just in case he wasn't accepted to his first choice Harvard) voiced by the show's creator and "Family Guy" writer Mark Hentemann.

Its humor is absurd, but laugh-out-loud funny. It's the kind of show that makes you think, "Damn! I wish I would've thought of that!" which is really what makes a show great. I give it 10/10. If it wasn't for MTV's terrible promotion of the show, it would still be on, and, most likely, alongside such great animated series as "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy".

The Next great MTV toon
All_Things_Ex29 November 2002
First it was Bevis and Butthead, then it was Daria followed by Celebrity Deathmatch, and now it 3 South. This is the next ( and likely the last) great MTV cartoon (or show of any type). This show is really clever and never dissapoints. I give it 9/10

Comic genius

First off I would like to say that Steve Callaghan and Erik Flester are two very talented writers. Some previous works included Ren and Stimpy and Futurama. The evidence of comedy is apparent in 3-South. Next, I think this show is outstanding. The characters are very different from anything I've seen before. The comedy comes from not only the writing but they way the actors deliver their lines. Brain Posehn is extremely talented and hilarious. The way he says something is just as funny as the line he says. 10/10 for this great show.

One of the last great MTV shows
ATG8726 January 2003
This show is so funny I'm surprised MTV was smart enough to pick up on it. I can assure you though, that this show will be dropped for some reality based game show andmight disappear like many of the reat cartoon shows on MTV

This was the best show ever! MTV has some good toons but this crosses the threshhold. 3-south is packed with side bursting, eye wattering humor that can only be title as funniest show ever. MTV needs to realize that not alot of people want to see wrestling at 10:30(or for me any part of the day) and to put this show back on the air!

This isn't brain food, that's for sure, but if your in the mood for some funny stuff, at the expense of your IQ, this is the show for you. I love it. I think you should give this show a chance...it'll make you laugh a couple times, I'd be willing to bet.

This show is hilarious in such an odd way
TheNextMadonna1 February 2003
This series is one of the funniest I have seen on TV! It is hilarious - but in very subtle ways. At times the humor can seen sophomoric and asanine, but then it will hit you with this unexpected gag or line that sends you into a fit of laughter.

It certainly is one of the oddest shows I've ever seen, but it's the show's corkiness that makes it so great. Try to catch it on MTV one night, you won't regret it.

this was one of the best cartoons i've ever seen but it was cursed by being on MTV, and thus it had a short but glorious life. it didn't have many viewers but those of us who did see it are extremely lucky. it deserves to be released on DVD and to be aired on adult swim (and have new episodes) but it doesn't look like either will happen... and i'm sorry but how in the world is laguna beach or super sweet 16 a better show than 3 south. i for one don't really care to see rich kids cry about how there parents treat them badly because they won't buy them the brand new bmw or whatever else they want. stepping off my soap box now, but what i'm really trying to say is that many people have been wanting to see this show again for years now, and if you've never seen it then i truly feel bad for you.

I don't see how some people could hate this show. I think it is hilarious. Like everything in it. I like almost as much as Family Guy. It has some of the writers from it so thats cool. Well anyway I hope it gets picked up for another season.

best show on mtv since jackass
kylelpag23 July 2003
I am glad the higherpowers that be at mtv decided to put this show back on the air it is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. if you are a college student then I strongly suggest that you give this a chance you will relate to it in some way. when this show first came on i couldn't get enough of it then one day it just disapeared i thought this was going to be one of mtv's highest rated shows but alas it was gone but now it is back and I suggest you watch it and if you enjoy it tell your friends and then let mtv know so that we can see some more episodes. if you ask me it ranks up there with south park the simpsons and the illfated family guy (damn you fox).

"These puffin rods are makin my head all flippity gee gee gee. Great party del!"

Anybody who has lived in a dorm should love this show
PMJohnson11 February 2003
This show is very funny and entertaining for those of us who have ever gone off to school and lived in a dorm. The creator of the show comes from "The Family Guy", which is one of the funniest animated shows of all time.

I can see how people that havn't attended college will not get some of the jokes, however for those of you that love shows like "The Family Guy", and "The Simpsons", this show is for you.

3 South is the best show on MTV. Its just as good as celebrity deathmatch and Daria. This show is even better than Bevis and Butthead. The show about four students is Undergrads and old episodes are being aired on comedy central ( and I think on Teletoon in Canada).

Pure Crap
GuruAskew21 November 2002
I watched this show because I'm always open to a new animated show, although animation itself is never enough to make up for terrible comedy. Well, if terrible comedy is what you want, check out "3-South". This show, along with "Family Guy" (which shared a few writers with this abomination) are perfect examples of what *NOT* to do when writing comedy. It's as if both shows are a part of some sociological experiment as to how many people will watch comedy so terribly crafted that it results in pain. The show is SO UNFUNNY that it actually angered me. Just like every animated MTV show, it won't last, although if it's predecessor "Family Guy" is any indication, it will last entirely too long.

I HATE this show
man-myth-legend8 December 2002
I am not one to use the word "Hate" much, but I simply have to use it for this slop of a comedy cartoon. I have not laughed once while watching this show, and the two main characters are annoying and quite unfunny. This is not worth

anybody's time. MTV should drop this crapfest and start playing more music like it did when it first started. Avoid 3 South at all costs.
