- Hayden, the lead character, uses a weapon called a glaive - a giant throwing star which decapitates, guts, dismembers etc.
- As the game progresses, the glaive is transformed with fire and electricity into a more powerful weapon.
- A 'power throw' can be targeted, which results in instant death through decapitation, loss of limb or a slash through the centre of the body.
- An 'after touch' option allows the camera to follow the glaive in slow motion and to redirect it towards opponents and targets.
- When injury is caused, large quantities of blood spurt out in all directions.
- Chopping an opponent's leg off means they writhe around in agony until they die and there are a lot of squelchy and bone-crunching sound effects.
- Finishing moves on human characters include throat-slashings, stabs to the neck, arms being chopped off, jaws being prized apart and even ripped off, slashings up the torso, neck breaks etc. They all are quite brutal.
- One finishing movie on zombie enemy includes cutting the stomach with glaive with sound effect and then beheading.
- The corpses of slain enemies are able to be shot and they move around with realistic 'rag doll' effects. However, it is not possible to cause further injury or dismemberment once the characters are dead.
- The human enemies let out some blood-curdling screams when they are injured and the effect of the violence is strong.

- Constant tension and suspense throughout as you can't guess where the enemies will appear to attack.
- Still, compared with other horror games and games filles with suspense, this is game is relatively tame.
