Enough with the crossover!
Trivioid2 October 2021
I realize Law & Order: Organized Crime is still new and that Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay played partners on the first 12 seasons of Law & Order: SVU. Those were my among favorite episodes. And while I'm happy Meloni is back, I feel these crossovers between the two shows are damaging SVU. The plots of SVU episodes increasingly are part of larger, organized crime scenarios and far less about the most common, everyday special victim. These crossovers force us to watch both shows, lest we miss important details, or see an unfinished plot. Occasional crossovers are fine, but this is really too much. SVU needs to get back to its roots.

Episode 2303

Warning: Spoilers
The crossover with Organized Crime worked as both series are really delivering right now.

I just think they need to address some of the glaring logic flaws in these storylines.

Stellar episode of SVU
whoneedsascreenname2 October 2021
If there was ever a doubt about what made the early seasons of SVU fantastic, this episode is a reminder: "I Thought You Were On My Side" is a 1.0 throwback with a modern sheen - a fast-moving hour featuring Benson & Stabler on an action-packed case involving a serial rapist who is part of an organized crime syndicate.

The two share a number of scenes -- vibing in their own shorthand, few words needed. Between their trademark pauses and stares, Liv reels off a handful of one-liners straight outta the classic L&O mothership.

Hargitay and Meloni are a particular reminder here that characters (and actors) don't hang around on television for 23 seasons unless they're really really great.

Terrific locations, plus Benson & Stabler back in the field, (guns drawn), and a classic interrogation scene, would be more than enough. But this one also had Kelli Giddish and Daniel Mone Truitt throwing some delectable shade.

Under it all lurks the possible Benson Stabler romance. Hargitay has made it clear publicly how she wants her series to end. How they'll get there is the question. So far the characters are just getting reacquainted, angst kept to a minimum.

The show is also benefitting from a lights, design and photography upgrade this season to mesh more seamlessly with OC. Never wanted this hour to end.

EPIC.......

This is why I've been watching all these years since season one, you have to admit the writing in this episode was great. Liv is badass and it's great in relation to the powerful men criminal element. I wasn't into season twenty two but this one is amazing.

Ask yourself why it's been running 23 years well watch this and you'll know. Reminds me of Stabler's antics only it's Liv.

No longer SVU
MovieFreak86-415-9125311 October 2021
I have been watching SVU since season 12, and I have even gone back and watched a lot from season 1-11. Plain and simple, this is no longer the SVU I started watching.

In earlier seasons it was about finding the killer, the rapist, or the whoever. In earlier seasons they actually went to court and got justice for the victim.

But now it seems like the criminals are always someone with powerful connections, or someone in the government. A lot of times it feels like SVU is even fighting the higherups of the NYPD. And now, if they do get justice for the victim, they BARELY get justice, if they even get to the courtroom.

For me, Season 22 was the worst season, and these first few episodes of season 23 have not helped. For me, this is proof that Law & Order SVU has been on for to long. I no longer like watching it as much as I did in past seasons. This is the last episode I plan on watching.

This episode was incredible!

This just started just like another episode that you could watch on SVU but this ended with and unexpected surprise!

I'd like to tell more about this TV episode but I think you should give it a try and watch it first.

You won't regret it!

Keep SVU going without Stabler
bhaverlah-666488 October 2021
So many were excited about Stabler coming back, not me. Maybe for a guest role for one or two episodes but I don't see that it improves the show. It is more of a distraction. The cast is fine without the added on the edge intensity that Meloni brings. Keep each show separate. And for those that would like to see Benson and Stabler together! Why?

Enough with Christopher Meloni.
Meloni left SVU for whatever reason. The show went from strength to strength without him. I'm really annoyed that the writers keep hijacking SVU with Organised Crime stories.

I watched the first few episodes of Organised Crime and got bored with it. So it's intensely frustrating that it keeps popping up in SVU.

Please give the guys their show back and let them concentrate on victim crime. Which is what they do best.

I want to watch SVU, not Organized Crime
p1phillips22 November 2021
The episode wasn't boring, but I'm watching SVU, not Organized Crime. Once the focus shifted from solving the sex crime to a sting on some Russian mob figure, I completely lost interest. That's not why I watch this show. If I wanted to watch Stabler catch gangsters, I'd watch his show. Stop forcing it into this one.

Relatively unrecognizable
taito20001 October 2021
I'm watching season one on DVD as I watch this season, and this season is trying to hard to be different. What I appreciated about season one was how unpredictable it was. Even with how it starts, they were good at twists and turns. It wasn't so bad in the season premiere, but what made this one bad was, they didn't really even go for twists. Hopefully they get better with that soon.
