Unreality Show
fcgovt18 June 2021
This is another example of an automotive restoration show with fake drama. The basic plan is to acquire and restore old cars in rough shape to make a profit. However, elements of this are fabricated beyond reason. As with all programs of this type, the episodes are heavily edited to meet a 43-minute length. The 3 or 4 guys that do the work set a ridiculous completion time of 3 to 7 days in which they completely fix all the issues with the body, paint the car, completely restore the interior and exterior, either fix or replace the motor, and detail the engine bay. It is utter nonsense. Who do I have to talk to create my own nonsense show? I'd like to make $50K per episode.

"using a unique business plan"

Warning: Spoilers
The business model these guys use is unique and ridiculously stupid. I wonder why they even need to get people to agree to had over their cars, since they have the money to do the restorations anyway. The cars they make deals for are worthless. One of the cars was so eaten away by rust that they had to go buy another car like it to get the body. They paid $3500 for the donor car, and we're supposed to believe that the one they took in on the deal was any better.

They offer the owners of these rusted out hulks 15 percent of the final sale price plus a guaranteed payment of more than the POS being restored is worth. They are selling the cars at a local no-reserve auction. How can they expect to profit and guarantee cash for the cars regardless of how little they bring at auction.

The business model is delusional. I had to stop trying to watch this.
