Theresa Traoré Dahlberg tackles an issue which I think is of interest to many, being how do the spouses of embassy/consular staff keep themselves meaningfully occupied.
The Ambassador's Wife looks at the wife of the French Ambassador to Burkina Faso, and it's quite fascinating (and even frustrating) seeing the her leisurely life behind the compound walls. Thankfully we finally see her beyond the compound when she performs opera in a beautiful setting in front of an appreciative audience.
I would have liked for more engagement with the Ambassador's Wife, e.g. Questions about whether she gets groceries herself, does she miss France, does she mix with consular staff of all nations?
Lindsay Crouse was one of the executive producers of The Ambassador's Wife.
