Spoiled child in control leads to predictable result.

Enjoyable to watch Tina Jung. Too bad her character spoiled her brat of a daughter who probably needed just a good talking to or a solid whack on her little behind. But then there wouldn't be a movie or calm morning queen. Will Smith's "The Pursuit of Happyness" presents a superior version of a single parent's struggles and far better parenting skills.

Not bad

Story is bit repetitive about a mom struggle for her living with a daughter along. The elements of the story quite alike for many similar theme. It's not the best ones but not too boring for this.

Reasonable portrait of a single mother's struggles

An ethnic-Korean woman is been working as a stripper-plus. Her 10-year-old daughter adores her father, who occasionally visits, but is financially irresponsible, and subject to bipolar attitudes that look like a precursor to being abusive. Mom is trying to improve herself by taking accounting courses, but has problems with getting babysitters.

With a female writer-director, this definitely has a female point of view. What I found most interesting was the performance of Eponine Lee as the child, and I wasn't surprised to see that she received a special jury award. But there are a few too many loose ends, and a bit too many characters. I'll recheck the film when it comes back out on TV, so I can rewind and re-view some of the happenings.
