Not as bad as what everybody is saying
31 December 2011
The film is simple: Two astronauts land on the moon and realize they are not alone.

Pro's: I did like the way the movie was being filmed because at time's it can give you chills.

The setting for the film was original because most of the time, "found footage", movies are sometimes taken place in cities.

The film also has some pretty good scares.

Con's: The acting was dull.

The film get's really boring and at time's I was hoping a scary scene would pop out.

Overall, if you're a fan of, "found footage", movies you will enjoy it but if you are just a person looking for a good horror movie to watch then skip it.

Fun and action-packed sequel
28 December 2011
The film is about Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, and a gypsy trying to capture Professor Moriarty.

Pro's: The film has some really great action sequences.

The acting is still great you have the original cast (except for Mark Strong) returning and you have Noomi Rapace as Madam Simza Heron and Jared Harris as the villain and they both did a great job as their characters.

Con's:

The film dose not have that many thrills from the first film and the film feel's pretty rushed especially at the beginning of the movie.

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows", is still a fun movie to watch and it still has some nice thrills.

Hollywood these days...
21 December 2011
When it comes to Hollywood adapting animated show's/Anime, people always ask, "Why?".

One of Hollywood's worst adaptations of a cartoon show is none other than the CGI-Animated/Live-action movie, "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

The story is about a guy named, Dave(played by Jason Lee), get's help from three chipmunks named, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, because he's having trouble trying to make a good song.

Good: I thought the acting was pretty good to be honest. Jason Lee does a decent job as Dave and the actor's who did the voices for Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, were pretty good.

The CGI Animation was also good. I also liked how they had some of the song's because I was a fan of the Chipmunks when I was little.

Bad: Everything else was boring. Even though I had a few chuckles here and there, I was bored. Also, why have David Cross as the bad guy? Why?

This film is strictly for kids and not for any fan of, "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

Hellsing (2001–2002)
5/10
Interesting idea, but it's a disappointing and mediocre series
9 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
"Hellsing", is about a secret military force located in London known as, The Hellsing Organization. One of the members is a vampire named, Alucard. When Alucard turns police girl, Seras Victoria, into a Vampire they both team up to stop evil Vampires and Zombies.

After reading what the show is about you guy's are thinking: "Wow. Sounds cool". It's cool, but it's pretty disappointing and not that great.

Pro's: *The show does have some nice animation. I liked how they used the colors because it gives the show a dark and grim setting.

*The voice acting was nicely done. Especially having Crispin Freeman (Best known for voicing Itachi from Naruto and Tsume from Wolf's Rain) and I also thought the rest of the cast did a good job doing the accents for the characters.

*The music was catchy and great. It does a nice job fitting the tone of the show.

Con's: *The plot was not that interesting because there are some plot holes that were never answered. For example: The FREAK Chips were not explained a lot or why did the Valentine Brothers attack Hellsing HQ?

*The Character Development was pretty bad because there was not that much development for Seras Victoria, Alexander Anderson, or Walter C. Dornez.

Overall: Hellsing is not a horrible show but it's not a great show. It has a cool premise but bad character development and some plot holes make this show disappointing.

Note: There is a new Hellsing OVA series titled: Hellsing Ultimate. It's a 10-episode OVA series based directly off the manga.

Batman Beyond (1999–2001)
10/10
An interesting and impressive animated show about Batman
6 November 2011
During the 90's, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment made some classic animated show's such as, "Batman: The Animated Series" and "Superman: The Animated Series". But in 1999, they released, "Batman Beyond".

Set in a futuristic Gotham City, the show is about a a 16-year old trouble maker named, Terry McGinnis. When his father get's killed, he get's help from Bruce Wayne, who use to be Batman, to get revenge. After when Terry get's his revenge, Bruce want's Terry to protect Gotham City from evil criminal's including familiar face's like Mr. Freeze.

I use to watch this show on Cartoon Network when I was little and it did impress me.

Pro's: The character's were interesting. Terry is a rebellious teenager who end's up being a good person in the end. Bruce is old and still has that tough attitude of his. Also, the villain's were pretty interesting including the teenager who has telekinetic power's (Forgot what his name is). The animation was amazing because it has a nice, "Blade Runner", feel to it and it stay's true to how dark the setting is.

Overall, "Batman Beyond", is a great animated show for any Batman fan or anyone looking for a good animated show to watch.

Green Lantern (2011)
2/10
A shining green disappointment
16 October 2011
After when, "The Dark Knight", was released in 2008, Hollywood has been adapting a lot of comic-book's even if there unknown comic-book's. Warner Bros. Decided to adapt the DC comic-book character, Green Lantern.

The story is about a test pilot named, Hal Jordan, who find's a dying alien and Hal is given a green ring. Once he put's the green ring on, he is given the power to imagine anything and it can come to life. He also end's up being a, Green Lantern.

Pro's: The special effects were really amazing and the action scene's were nicely done.

Ryan Reynolds and Mark Strong do good job's as there character's, Hal Jordan and Sinestro.

Con's: The character development was really weak because most of the character's have no important role and people who played them were pretty bad. For example, we only see Sinestro in about 3 to 5 scene's in the movie. Really, Warner Bros? Really?

The character's were also weak. For example, Hector Hammond is just a whiny character who does nothing but scream most of the time. Not to mention Hal Jordan's love interest, Carol Ferris, she was really boring.

The movie was also slow and really boring.

Overall, "Green Lantern", is really disappointing and it's not up there with the other comic-book movies of 2011.

It's Sherlock Holmes. With Animal's
10 September 2011
During the 80's, Disney was having a lot of trouble trying to make a good Disney film.

Before, "The Little Mermaid", was released, Disney released an animated movie called, "The Great Mouse Detective". It became a critical and financial success.

The movie is about a Toy Inventor who get's kidnapped, and the daughter of the Toy Inventor assist's help from Basil and his sidekick, David.

Pro's: The film has some great animation and the story is original because it's just like, Sherlock Holmes, except with Mice. Also, the voice acting was great and it even has veteran actor, Vincent Price, as the villain, Dr. Ratigan.

Overall, "The Great Mouse Detective", is a fun, animated movie and one of Disney's underrated movie's.

Black Swan (2010)
10/10
Weird, Bizarre, and Magnificent
15 August 2011
"Black Swan", is about a ballerina named, Nina (Played by Natalie Portman), playing the lead roles in the play, "Swan Lake, but when a rival ballerina (Played by Mina Kunis) joins, Nina start's to lose her grip on reality and start's hallucinating.

Pro's: Natalie Portman does a magnificent job as Nina and Mila Kunis does a great job in the movie. Most of the time, Mila Kunis, is in Comedies but in this movie, she's different. The Music in the movie was amazing and captures the tone of the film. The character, Nina, was also great because her personality in the movie switches from the White Swan to the Black Swan. When she act's like the Black Swan, that's where the movie get's really weird.

Overall, if you're a fan of Darren Aronofsky's work or if you're looking for a good Thriller to watch, "Black Swan", is definitely worth watching.

Michael Bay tries to produce the next, "Twilight". But fails
14 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Since, "Harry Potter", is done and the, "Twilight Saga", is coming to an end, Hollywood has been trying to look for a Book series to be the next, "Harry Potter". Michael Bay and D.J. Caruso (Director of, "Disturbia") adapt the book, "I Am Number Four", but they failed.

The movie is about a teenager named, John, who is alway's moving with his Guardian because John is an Alien and an evil race known as, The Mogadorians. He tries to keep his identity a secret when he make's new friends and fall's in love.

Pro's: The Special Effect's were good (Like I said before, Michael Bay produced this). I only found the character, John, a good character.

Con's: The film was really boring. The character's were flat and boring. Also, there was a huge plot hole in the movie: What was in the box? John said his father gave him a box and he never opened it. The writer's should have put a scene where John opens the box.

"I Am Number Four", is just a boring and bad movie that's not worth watching at all.

Violent and Awesome. Just the way I like it
13 August 2011
Ever wanted to see a violent and awesome action flick with a post-apocalypse setting similar to, "Mad Max"? Well now you can with: "Fist Of The North Star". An Anime movie released in 1986.

The story is set after a nuclear Holocause destroys the earth. A martial artist named, Kenshiro, who knows how to use the deadly move known as, "The Fist Of The North Star", team's up with other survivors to save his fiancé Julia from his evil friend.

Pro's: The film has some great animation. The character's were great. The storytelling was good.

Con's: The Animation is a bit dated at time's. Julia sound's old in the English dub.

Overall, "Fist Of The North Star", is a violent and awesome anime movie worth watching if you're a fan of action movies or anime.

Interesting anime film about The Dark Knight
3 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
When Christopher Nolan's, "The Dark Knight", was being released, Warner Bros. Animation and some Anime studios (Including Madhouse and Production I.G.) worked on an anime anthology film similar to other anime anthology films like, "The Animatrix" and "Halo: Legends".

Pro's: The film has some great animation and the voice acting was great especially having Kevin Conroy returning as Batman/Bruce Wayne. Also, some of the segments were interesting including the segment, "Walking through the Pain". It follow's Bruce Wayne traveling to India to learn how to control pain from a girl.

Con's: The segment's, "Have I got a Story for you" and "Field Test", were boring.

Overall, "Batman: Gotham Knight", is a great Anime flick and worth watching if you're into Anime or a fan of Batman.

A Star-Spangled success
30 July 2011
Today, Marvel has been doing a Great job releasing their Comic-Book adaptations. So far, "Thor" and "X-Men: First Class", have been successful. Now come's, "Captain America: The First Avenger", based on the classic Comic-Book series.

Steve Rogers joins a group where he and some other guy's are being trained to become, "Super Soldiers". When Steve is turned into a buffed dude after performing a medical test on the, "Super Soldier", medicine, he end's up being, Captain America.

Pro's: The acting was great especially having Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith from, "The Matrix") as the villain, Red Skull, and Chris Evans (The Human torch from, "Fantastic Four") as, Captain America. The setting was also interesting because most Comic-Book adaptation's are taken place in the present. It also has some great action scene's.

Con's: Sometime's, the movie can be boring and cheesy at time's.

Overall, if you liked, "X-Men: First Class" or "Thor", you will love, "Captain America: The First Avenger".

Samurai Champloo (2004–2005)
10/10
A cool anime show filled with action and hip-hop
24 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Before, "Afro Samurai", was released. Shinichiro Watanabe (Creator of, "Cowboy Bebop") created a show called, "Samurai Champloo".

The story is about a girl named, Fuu, who saves two swordsmen named, Jin and Mugen, from getting executed. After when Fuu saves them, Jin and Mugen travel with her so they can find the "Samurai who smells of Sunflowers". Along the way, they encounter many obstacles.

Pro's: This show was really funny. Mostly because when they arrive at a town, Mugen and Jin leave Fuu and get into trouble. The animation was great because it capture's what the Edo period was like in Japan. The film also has some good voice acting mostly from Steve Blum as Mugen. The music in this show was also good because it had some old Japanese music and Hip-Hop Music.

Con's: Nothing Overall, "Samurai Champloo", is a great anime show that blend's good action, good hip-hop music, and a sense of humor.

Rock & Rule (1983)

An animated classic that really rocks
12 July 2011
Nelvana, has been known for producing a lot of animated series such as, "6teen" and "My Dad the Rock Star". But back in 1983, they made an animated film that went on to become a cult-classic. That film was, "Rock and Rule".

The story is about when a nuclear war started and the only species left were: Dog's, Cat's, and Rat's. One of the members in a band named, Angel, get's kidnapped by a ruthless rock star named, Mok. The rest of Angel's band follow Mok and try to get Angel back.

Pros: The animation was really great. It has a nice post-apocalyptic feel to it. The music in the movie was also great and it features Cheap Trick, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop. The story was pretty good.

Con's: The character, Omar, was bland and boring.

Overall, "Rock and Rule", is a great animated film with cool music. If you like, "Heavy Metal", you will like, "Rock and Rule".

Surprisingly, not THAT bad
5 July 2011
When Hollywood adapts Anime, they get panned by critics and don't do so well at the box-office. But one day, I watched the live-action adaptation of the anime film, "Blood: The Last Vampire". After watching it, it was not that bad.

The story is just like the anime film except a bit different. It's about a Vampire girl named, Saya, who goes undercover as a student at a High School next to an air base. But later on, she comes face-to-face with the demon who killed her father, Onigen.

Pro's: I was surprised that most of the scene's from the anime film were shown. The fight scene's were good. The acting from Gianna Jun (Who played, Saya) was good.

Con's: The second half of the film had nothing to do with the anime film. The movie only focused on Saya and no one else. I did not care too much for the character, Alice. The CGI was really bad.

Overall, "Blood: The Last Vampire", is better than other anime adaptations, but it's still a bad adaptation. You're better off watching the anime film.

This is what happens when Disney makes a sequel to one of there films
4 July 2011
When it comes to sequels to animated films, they don't turn out so good. For Disney, they have made tons of sequels to there films. Most of them, sucked (With the exception of, "The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride").

In 1998, they released a Direct-To-Video sequel to the 1995 animated film, "Pocahontas". The sequel is called, "Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World".

The story is about Pocahontas going to England with John Rolfe after when Pocahontas hears rumor's about John Smith dead. That's it.

Con's: The film's story is bland, I felt like there was barely any love from the first film, the song's were mostly short and unmemorable mostly because Alan Menken did not return, and the sidekicks, Meeko and Percy, were not that funny.

Pro's: The film does have some good animation, the song, "Thing's are not what they appear", was decent, and the voice acting was pretty good.

Overall: "Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World", is a bland sequel to a Disney classic. I would avoid this movie if I were you.

An excellent prequel to a great franchise
27 June 2011
When X-Men: First Class came out, I didn't care too much because I wasn't really into the X-Men franchise. But since a lot of people were saying it was a great comic-book movie, I decided to watch this film. Boy, this movie was excellent.

What make's this film excellent is the story. I like how it show's what Professor X and Magneto looked like when they were young and creating the Mutan Academy. It also has some great performances from James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, and Kevin Bacon as the villain, Sebastian Shaw.

The film also has some great action and interesting character's like Azazel, Mystique, Emma Frost, and Darwin.

Overall, if you're a fan of X-Men or someone that enjoy's comic-book movies, this movie is definitely worth watching.

An action-packed, apocalypse animated film that's worth watching
26 June 2011
When I first saw the previews for this film, I was really looking forward to the movie because it looked interesting. I was also surprised that the movie was given a PG-13 Rating because most animated films that are being released today, have been getting PG or G Ratings.

The story is about nine rag dolls trying to fight for their lives in a post-apocalyptic world.

The animation in the movie was impressive mostly because of the setting for the film. The voice acting was nice and the story was good.

The problem's with this film is that the movie lacks character development and the movie feels pretty rushed.

"9", is a great animated film and I also recommend watching the short film.

Appleseed (2004)
10/10
This film is REALLY A-Mazing. Period
23 June 2011
Computer Animation and Anime are both interesting anime and most anime show's that are being released recently are combining Hand-Drawn Animation with Computer Animation. But here's a question: Have you ever wanted to see a computer-animated film with anime-looking characters? Well now you can with, "Appleseed". Based on the Manga by the same name.

The movie follows the story about a warrior named, Deunan Knute, who get's plucked from fighting and find's herself in a futuristic town called, Olympus. She also discovers that half-human and half-clone citizens known as, Bioroids, live in the city. She soon teams up with her cyborg boyfriend, Briareos, to find a source of energy called, Appleseed.

This film really blew me away mostly because of the animation. It was incredible. I even found the characters, Deunan and Briareos, cool. I also liked the story.

I can't say much about this film because it was really amazing. This film is definitely worth watching if you're an anime fan or someone looking for a good sci-fi movie to watch.

A sad and excellent anime film
22 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A couple years ago, there was a story book series called, "Arashi No Yoru Ni (One Stormy Night)". It was the story about a goat named, Mei, who becomes friends with a Wolf named, Gabu. But soon, they have trouble trying to stay friends because Gabu's Wolf pack eats Goats.

In 2005, Japan released an anime adaptation of the story books and it became very popular in Japan.

The film has a nice story and it kinda reminds me of Pocahontas except with no kissing nor love connections and it has animals. The animation is also lovely because it combines hand-drawn animation with water-colored backgrounds and some CG. The film also has some good voice acting mostly because it had Shido Nakamura (The guy that did the voice of Ryuk in the Japanese version of, Death Note, and he played Lieutenant Ito in, Letters from Iwo Jima) as the voice of Gabu.

"Arashi No Yoru Ni (One Stormy Night)", is a great anime film that's filled with emotion and heart.

An interesting animated film. Despite being flawed
17 June 2011
"Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland", is an old animated film based on a comic book series by the same name.

The movie follows a little boy named Nemo who goes on an adventure in a magical land in his dreams called: Slumberland. Once there, Nemo and his friends try to save Slumberland from the evil Nightmare King.

This film has some great animation and visuals because the movie was produced by TMS studios (They were known for producing the anime film, "Akira"). Some of the character's in the film were likable and the Nightmare King was a good villain. The movie also has some good voice acting.

The problem's with this film is that the main character, Nemo, was boring and the story was pretty lame.

Overall, "Little Nemo", is not the best animated film ever made, but it's still a good animated film.

Good for kids. But fans will REALLY hate it
16 June 2011
"Star Wars", is one of the greatest franchises ever made. The movie did a great job at the box-office and a cult-following was made. But then George Lucas continued the Star Wars saga with a computer-animated film released in 2008. Boy, did fans hate it.

The movie was bad. But it's not an awful movie. The thing's I liked about the movie was that the animation was pretty good, the voice acting was good because it had Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, and Anthony Daniels returning as there characters. The film also has some good action scene's.

What make's this film bad is that the story was lame, the film feel's like a T.V. special (The film actually spawned an animated series by the same name with the same actors, animation, etc.), and I didn't care too much for Anakin's sidekick, Ahsoka.

"The Clone Wars", will entertain kids, but it won't entertain fans because they will REALLY hate the movie. Just like how they hated the prequel trilogy.

Megas XLR (2004–2005)

Wish they made another season
12 June 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Back in 2004, CN aired an animated series about robot's taking place in New Jersey called, "Megas XLR".

This show has some great animation and it's really funny. In one episode, Coop has to get a new driver's license because his old one expired. To get a new driver's license, he has to go to the DMV. But Coop hates the DMV.

I can't say to much about the show because it's really entertaining and it has a cool theme song. If you're looking for a good animated show to watch, "Megas XLR", is worth watching. The show will also make you dig giant robot's.

Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg in a movie together equals funny stuff
9 June 2011
Have you ever wanted to see a comedy with Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg as cops trying to solve a mystery? Well now you can with, "The Other Guy's".

What's funny about this movie is Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg's performance's, they were really funny and I was pretty surprised that Mark Wahlberg can be funny. It also has a lot of funny moments from start to finish.

The problem's with this movie is that sometimes it can get really boring later on.

"The Other Guys", is a funny movie from start to finish and worth watching if you're trying to look for a good comedy to watch.

Really, really, really funny
8 June 2011
Kevin Smith is considered as one of the most greatest directors because he was known for giving us the independent film, "Clerks".

In 2001, he released a movie with the character's, Jay, Silent Bob, and other character's from his past films.

This film is really funny from start to finish because Jay alway's swears and Silent Bob is always making funny hand motions. It also has some good and funny acting and the movie has some celebrities making cameos like Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Mark Hamil.

The problem I have with the movie is that the movie's humor can get pretty boring at time's.

Overall, "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", is a funny movie and you will laugh a lot as you watch the movie.
